Even handed truly representative international institutions in the twenty first century?

an even-handed UN; hope for the World,

hope for peace and security in a dangerous age

International institutions create the image of an era of even-handed international justice in all fields- economic, political, cultural, military... etc. Sadly the reality is far removed from this noble dream.

We, the people, must never be complacent, we must continuously and patiently strive for the mechanisms that create and protect impartiality ingrained in the charters of these fundamentally important international institutions.

Are these all important international institutions truly representative. Do they have the mechanism to receive balanced multi-sided input about problems and crises and would-be problems and crises ? Do they have mechanisms to listen to the deprived, underprivileged and dispossessed ? Do they have mechanisms to listen to the case of those isolated by disempowerment and/or by politica, economic, technological and/or cultural barriers or a priori prejudices, that impede their expression and communication of their case and their cause ?

Are international bodies, in common with the new universal human plight, enclosed in unitary, and inevitably distorted, input via information systems, mass media and news agencies shaping and disseminating information in a selective way according to some obvious and some not so obvious inherent bias and clandestine dynamics ?

Superficially it seems as though we have a pluralistic world supervised by international mechanisms for ensuring justice, peace and non-violent conflict resolution. We can not afford to be complacent. We strive perpetually to get nearer and nearer to that ideal. Why then the eruptions, the explosions, the rising tide of violence, counter-violence and national and international terrorism if all forces have legitimate platforms to communicate and air their grievances on a national and international platform?

We all now pay lip service to the concept of representative government.

Are the international bodies that will more and more be called upon to act as international arbitrators, and international legitimacy protectors, are these bodies truly representative? Are the world institutions and is the machinery we are building to keep the peace, representative, balanced, even-handed and fair? Are they through representation and impartiality generating the necessary moral authority and moral pressure towards the emergence of representative governments within all nations and for all cultures ?

On deep scrutiny the question arises: is the process of international government becoming a sort of club of the powerful, whose interests matter first and foremost regardless ? A club ignoring the legitimate aspirations, needs and reality of those who are different, weaker or voiceless. What is the place of the “other” in that World Order? Someone eloquently summarised attitude of the great powers as:

"our behaviour is exemplary we respect human rights we play by the rules as long as we are winning!!".

The great powers have been the first to break the rules and to trample on the United Nations and ignore security council resolutions when their interests are threatened anywhere. The powerful unabashedly operate a hidden agenda that makes nonsense of the fine and noble in dreams that humanity had entertained after the incredible tragedy and massacres of the 20th century and the hope for the qualitatively different 21st century.

Some claim that since the US and its Western allies hold the greatest shares in the corporate company "the world" then it is natural that they should be the decision makers and that the decisions should reflect their interests before any other.

The important question is whether this view is in the best interests of the rich and powerful ? Sadly the dynamics of in the modern world has no place for long-term strategic visionaries. Political decision-making is totally imprisoned in the dynamics of power and in the dynamics of winning the next election regardless of the long-term interests of the society which will perform the particular elections. The brand of new modern politicians are inherently shortsighted and unable to make "unpopular" decisions even if that is in the long-term interests of their own country and of humanity at large. Modern-day politicians have cottoned on another a wonderful power and dynamic which had been discovered since the mid-30s in Europe namely working up of public panic which is a process that has proved itself a reliable and consistently successful process to allow politicians more power and a freer hand and to terrify the population from forcing change or from insisting on their rights even when change is badly needed.

Do these dynamics generating and maintaining short sighted views and the remedies that never go beyond the palliative or the cosmetic, not contradict profoundly with the long term interests of these powers ?

I believe more and more strategists in the US and the West will see that it is in their long term interest to work together towards interactive pluralism rather than unitary dominance. The attraction of the "American century" is very great but there is no doubt that a multilateral world is much safer and in the long-term much more prosperous or everybody than a world dominated by a unilateral power drunk with its own supremacy.

That the hegemony of the dominant supreme power posture has generated a long list of de-stabilising double standards does not seem to worry holders of that corporate company view. The euphoria of supreme hegemony as is obvious to everybody has created much more problems than it has solved. The cost in human and in canonic terms has been enormous to say nothing of the back ground level of violence that has increased almost universally.

That the confidence of millions of frustrated "other" world members, in international bodies and international justice, should become progressively thinned and eroded does not seem to be linked with the progressive violence that threatens all and in the end is deeply counter to the interest of the major share holders in ‘corporate company world’ as the proponents of the hypothesis call it.

In recent times inconsistent standards of the UN and parallel international bodies under direct or indirect control of the great powers have caused great disappointment in the hearts of millions of “other” members of the world community aspiring for justice and equity and for effective international mechanisms to help them move towards these worthy goals.

Examples come to mind like :

Ignoring the atrocities of regimes against their own people for decades and awakening suddenly to make an international issue of the atrocities -and human rights- when it is expedient to do so as in the case of Kuwait, Iraq and the Kurds. A blind eye is then cast anew on old, current and new atrocities. Some come to the inescapable conclusion that the determining factor/s, have less to do with justice and/or human rights of the "other", and more to do with a hidden agenda involving the interests of the “powerful”.

The transformation of a workers protest movement in Gdansk into an international issue adopted by all powers including the pope, while ignoring -or acting in a disbalanced and selective way- similar and parallel movements protesting human rights violations in many other countries in the middle east, Africa, North and South America, Asia and in the former colonies.

The double standards in relation to human rights in Poland, China and former Eastern block countries as compared to human rights in countries whose dictators and abusers aligned themselves in service of the great-power camp, in certain parts of Africa, the Middle East, South America and Asia.

One area engenders extreme "concern" another is responded to with indifference and disregard.

It is as though the "human rights" issue is transformed into a political weapon to be used ad lib according to the interest of the dominant Western powers. That of course undermines credibility and undermines the much needed sense of belonging which we need to engender in the new world-citizens all over the globe.

The arms trade and the condoning or casting a blind eye on billions of dollars worth of national or aid money in developing countries channeled directly or indirectly to buy modern and hyper-modern weapons for these non-modern countries under the totalitarian control of non-representative minorities whose illegitimate hold on power becomes deeper and more permanent thanks to these arms that are out of synch with their country’s socio-political development.

The casting of a blind eye on human rights abuses arising from inhuman economic transformations taking place without transparency or accountability etc. in parallel with the human rights abuses by friendly dictators and "strong men", who control their peoples, protect them from communism and deliver the goods.

The very revealing stance of the Western powers towards nuclear non-proliferation in the first instance there is the amazing assumptions that the West is the one and only reference point so that it alone has the right to feel threatened about so-called rogue states possessing nuclear weapons. In the egocentric stance that does not carry the slightest indication of awareness that other countries indeed the whole of humanity should and could and does feel threatened by the enormous sellers of life extinction weapons that the great powers possess in overkill abundance!

There is in the middle of this double standards dilemma complete blindness as to how Middle Eastern countries feel towards the fact that Israel has an enormous arsenal of atomic weapons and means to deliver them anywhere. An Israeli leader recently threatened in public to turn Iran into a radioactive desert. Why was this very substantiated threat not seen as a legitimate cause for anxiety and reaction in ‘other’ countries that have every right to be worried and concerned? Why did the mass media and information media gloss over this very real and serious threat when they made such capital of Nagad’s typical hot air threat of wiping out Israel and Israel in the biliary and none hot air! threat of wiping out Iran. Nagad’s Eastern type threat! was made capital of over days and weeks and months all over the mass media and information networks. The statement was taken up by the American president by Senators by everybody with any weight in Washington and in the West. The counter statement and threats, which, experience and understanding of cultures, make it much more credible and threatening was and is still being ignored. In fact the ground is being prepared for some strike against Iran. The public is being slowly modulated (the manufacture of consent) in such a way that a public opinion should start seeing as desirable and necessary the initiation of yet another war in the Middle East, thinking quite erroneously, that this is the best way to ensure the safety of Israel.

Why are countries in the Middle East denied their rights to feel threatened by an atomic arsenal at their doorstep? While the West threatens to plunge the whole area into a hot and deadly war with no holds barred and with tactical and strategic ‘atomic weapons’ threats, all because Iran is working on uranium enrichment? Is this the evenhandedness that will bring us security and peace? Remembering that Iran when treated with due respect and sensitivity did show full readiness to co-operate with international bodies to ensure the peaceful direction of her nuclear programme. A shortcut across these terrible and dangerous cobwebs is for the U. N. backed by the great powers to declare the Middle East a nuclear free zone and to have the courage, vision and determination to implement that declaration on everybody.

When after the tragedy of 9/11 the US president warns that the UN could become another League of Nations failing to keep the peace, any neutral observer will be aware that the US administration is really threatening to push the UN into the same abyss that the League of Nations slid into, the warning reflects a frightening determination to flout and to over-rule the UN. The moral authority of the UN is of vital importance and it does not stem from arms or guns alone or from the ability to deploy troops. The weight of the U. N. as a world authority stems from adherence to a single standard and to the noble idea of justice and human rights for all. I keep remembering the wise words of Kofi Enan "if globalisation does not work for everyone in the end it shall work for no one". If US. and great power unilateralism should push the United Nations into becoming an ineffectual bystander in world affairs and in rampant injustices everywhere, history -if there would be any history left!- will diagnose the culprits in the tragedy, as the leaders of the great powers failing to adopt truly neutral stances and to consistently adopt the balanced, just and non-doublestandards policies worthy of that great international body and worthy of these great lead nations being the most powerful and most prosperous and technologically advanced nations of the 21st century. The UN is a body that can, needs and must survive not through selfish ego-centrism but through the unstoppable moral authority of justice and non-selective respect for the human rights of all. Robbed by great power-short-sightedness of that moral authority The UN our last hope is likely to be flouted by a mounting number of nations heading for the fate of the failed League of Nations and for unpredictable but fully preventable disasters and catastrophe and conflagration.

Education for pluralistic, interactive peace

Does the educational orientation and curriculum anywhere in the World, transmit to the learners during their formative years, a balanced multi-sided view of history? Is there any curriculum that sees the predicament, achievements and failures of the human race as a cumulative process contributed to negatively and positively by all races all cultures and all religions, listening carefully and integrating into the whole picture the vision and perceptions of the "other", the vanquished and the crushed (an important insight gained from the feminist movement). The World has become our pulsating global village inextricably interconnected and interdependent with a fragile threatened life-supporting environment and an enormous widening gap between the privileged and the underprivileged. We all have to spare no effort, ingenuity or resource to create the conditions for an interactive non-violent pluralistic secure life together. The old win/lose, conqueror/vanquished, privileged intimidating the deprived into submission, is no path to stability, security and peace less so, while the privileged take every chance to flaunt/brandish their advantages in non-stop fevers of propaganda, advertising and selling and short-sided pride, vanity and assertion of supremacy without real tangible mass support for the deprived to start on the road of self help and self development. Many peoples of the World rightly perceive that the path to self help demands changes. They also perceive that the path for development is continuously frustrated by the powerful World leaders who support regimes, not according to their loyalty to the interests of their own people and their development. but according to their loyalty to the interests of the strong and powerful. There can be no alternative to a pluralistic, win/win interactive peace achieved by finding the balance points between disparate interests reflecting a faith in Universal human rights and justice. We can never find out and/or activate the interests of peoples into becoming a dynamic effective participant in international dialogue unless and until the peoples of the world are empowered to diagnose, express, participate and communicate and choose their honest accountable representatives.
All realities around us have changed but we adamantly cling to our closed boxes or rather to our politically induced delusional systems including outmoded concepts of peace and security. As repeatedly pointed out in this article, the education and the learning upbringing formative forces to which the vast majority of the peoples of the world are exposed, are outdated, outmoded and out of synch with the times and the needs of our particular stage of human evolution and the new challenges facing the race and the globe.(a suggested study on computer games ferociously training our children into the win/lose principle and into the "other" as enemy).

INTRODUCTION 
Once upon a time in Egypt, where I was born, doctors were wise men. For many centuries the name for a doctor was "Hakeem" i.e. wise man. I will show you perhaps a little later a form of folk preventive medicine which has been operating for several years, together with a form of therapeutic body movement, music and dance and expression therapy, folk medicine which still operates to this day. Both of these music-based forms of therapy and prevention have rhythms and content which is so intense that had we had appropriate connections with loudspeakers, no member of the audience could resist responding and participating with body movement, with dance, and/or with one or more expressive channels potentially available to us. It is probable that many will find the experience relevant and valuable.
These two forms of folk music therapy and prophylaxis are dying down. They are threatened with cultural erosion, invasion and humiliation. Once tolerated by the "Hakeems" they are threatened and attacked by the now reigning all-powerful western brand of medicine which I purport to show you is a system that is very efficient in many relative ways but profoundly blinkered and hazardous in other domains.
I have not come to that belief easily. It has been a long journey. My being with you here criticising modern medicine as it is, its practice, teaching and research orientation, is the culmination of a long and difficult journey up the echelons of the medical establishment to the top. Through that journey I have acquired the authority and the right to criticise the blinkered and sometimes anti-life and anti-health postures of modern medicine and to present and advocate a vision of a life-respecting, life-saving, health enhancing, reorientation not only in medicine but in the sciences.
The Sphinx represents the ancient Egyptian wisdom that man is animal and spiritual component integrated
Man is neither one of these properties alone
The first slide I am going to show you is the sphinx. Being dedicatedly animal as well as dedicatedly human it is a reminder of dimensions lost to modern medicine. This product of old Egyptian wisdom and art, the sphinx, has an animal body and a human head. A very conscious human head. The relationship between the animal body and the human head is not an accidental relation. It is a situation of absolute insistence and affirmation of mind and.body, of left lobe and right lobe, i.e. emotion and rationality, physicality and spirituality. The conception is one of perfect balance of the mind and the body, of a totality that is made of all the parts. The parts that make the totality are non-disintegratable, non-separable and they make the whole. As though to underline this point, that many faceted sphinx is carved from one single stone. Just a miracle of artistic creation or is that a further affirmation of the holistic message? It is there! An affirmation of unity through plurality and plurality through unity.


The wisdom of integration symbolised in the sphinx is a domain where modern science has had its gravest shortcoming. Our sciences resort habitually to fixation and disintegration of the various parts to study them. Yet we have not developed the knowledge or the pitch of consciousness to re-integrate the parts into an experience of the whole; of the 'totality' that is made of the various elements. The totality that frequently is greater than the simple summation of the parts.
Reductionism has served medicine and science in certain ways but it has also manifest limitations and failures that can be disastrous unless we are deeply aware of them and correct them.
The totality that science disintegrates and fixes for study, measurement, description and observation of that totality is very elusive. It eludes the "pure" scientist who is deprived after his erudite journeys of research and learning from the ability to re-integrate the parts into the whole and is even less able to integrate the parts into a living whole. The "living whole" keeps emerging as a continuous reminder to science and scientists of limits and limitations. For wise men this totality is a continuous source of learning, admiration, respect and insight.
Tragically however, the living totality emerges as a continuous threat and humiliation to scientists who have forgotten the limitations of "science" and who refuse the humility of wisdom and insight. To them that living, creative, surprising and unpredictable totality must be disciplined and subdued then to remain within the confines of these all powerful and wonderful sciences. Very subtly sciences metamorphose from servants of life and of nature, into systems of a priori reference to which life and nature must be subdued.
Mechanisms of "fixing" creativity.
The Egyptians -and later all cultures-undergoing fixation on their initial break­throughs so that imperceptibly the creative vision and wisdom become the new rigidity of the status quo destroyers of the new vision.

A universal and recurrent disorientation
I do not want to naively transmit a romantic picture of Egypt or of the ancient civilisations from which we have so much to understand and to learn. I want to transmit to you as much as is possible a balanced picture of Egypt because in some ways we were all born in Egypt. Even if the WEST likes to deny it, we were born in Egypt, Sumer, China and India and then Greece.


We deserve, we need to understand ourselves and where and why things went wrong. The modern current civilisation, the modern cultural concepts are born in Egypt and within the great ancient river civilisations, with the great visions as well as the misconceptions. The phenomenon of the status quo using the fruits of creativity to enhance fixity and rigidity and then ingeniously rationalise the destructive metamorphosis, is a universal curse. It has been the tragic rule all over our very short history.
In Egyptian wisdom that phenomenon is symbolised in the recurrent killing and deliberate disintegration of Osiris, the benefactor and teacher of the essence of life and creativity. Not only is Osiris killed every time he is captured, he must be castrated, cut up into many separate parts which must be deliberately separated ad kept separate by law.
Please look at figure 1, and note that on a twenty four hour scale all recorded history is but a mere quarter of second at the tail end. There is no reason why we should not acknowledge that in this quarter of a second we have made conceptual mistakes. There is no need to blow up ourselves, our planet and all of life with our bizarre atomic bombs and other weapons perfected for mass impersonal destruction, for the sake of the systems, institutions, edifices, prejudices and fears etc., born out of this infinitesimally short period of development down an alley that many see now see as a path of sanctified misconceptions. These sanctified misconceptions may have served some purpose during certain phases of history and of social, political and economic evolution. They have no right to persist or to pose as perennial and inherent reality.


Osiris was born in Egypt but also Kafka was rapidly invented there !
In Egypt, parallel with the many great break-throughs we also have the subtle rise of the edifice, of the rules, the rise of the system. A vision so remarkable becomes the system. The 'system' becomes larger and larger, more powerful and more rigid. A static edifice is created, whose deep almost subconscious function is to destroy new vision and new wisdom. The human being, the very thing that gave birth to this greatness, becomes so insignificant. Look at the infinitesimally small and insignificant 'us' next to the ankles of the colossal statue of Ramses ! !

A fascinating depiction, perhaps prediction, of a Kafkaesque vision. A situation when human beings, by the direct violence of the whip and the sword, or the indirect violence of conditioning through upbringing and mass media -as in our times and in many of the "democracies"- are turned into machines with controlled and predictable responses and controlled predictable "free" choices.
There is an analogy with modern sciences where the system has become so huge and so enormous and so impressive and so imposing that human beings look like dwarfs; insignificant, ineffectual dwarfs.
Human beings whose creative visions gave birth to the system in the first place now risk punishment, destruction and annihilation if they attempt to modify, develop or renovate the system. Throughout our recorded history the system has failed to become human centered ; in fact human beings are centered around systems. When they suffer, it is their mistake. They are wrong. They are outcasted, tolerated, treated, punished or destroyed as the case may be.
We must all sit passively by our TV sets to watch millions of our race regularly sacrificed at the altar of the system rather than dare think that the system ought to be sacrificed at the altar of living human-beings and life. The tragedy reaches bizarre proportions when a minority of people make a system that represent to them the absolute truth, the one and only final truth for "progress" and for the "good", that is to be inflicted by force of the gun. The system is sanctioned by the gun directly as in case of the military minorities who ruled and rule millions or sanctioned by the "holy" book whether it be religious dogma or one of the dogma "isms" via the "mechanism" of the gun also .


Lessons from Akhnaton
The Pharaoh who tried to change the "system"
At this juncture I can almost see Akhnaton conjured amongst us; the much neglected, maligned Akhnaton. Akhnaton was one of the great men in history. He, the pharaoh, rebelled against the system. He was supreme privileged monarch and yet he deviated. He tried to make the system move. He wanted to make the system respond to human need and vision. The Amarna murals show that, perhaps for the first time in recorded history, he chose to put truth, the search for truth and movement before the system, before ritual and a priori symbol and a priori assumptions. He enriched us with one of the most creative journeys of ancient times whether it be in science, art or religion.
Most of his work was destroyed by the priests and generals of the system. He is insufficiently studied. His significance is insufficiently understood.
He was finally destroyed physically, probably by poisoning, some think by blinding and banishment and denial, like Oedipus. The system refused to take the challenge. Shortly after his destruction or banishment it was taboo to even mention him. We do not know for certain how he died, but we know that he was resisted, denied and later suppressed and amputated from the social and political consciousness.
When Akhnaton's faithfulness to his truth, to his life consciousness necessitated dissolution of the system, he had to be destroyed. Even though the person who perceived these new truths was the supreme head of the system. Does this echo of the JFK , the John Kennedy tragedy in our times ?
Static "enclaved" safety ? or
Dynamic, interactive safety ?
Men have subtly manoeuvred themselves to construct systems that purport to serve them when it is they who serve, it is they who serve the system and stumble over the hurdles.
Historically people who do not succumb to this subtle misorientation (education) must be destroyed. Paradoxically, after punishing to destruction the quick, the pulse, the creative vision of man (men and women), the system is quite ready to adopt certain changes, quite ready to change (ref. 8 )
It is not movement per se, it is not change per se which is the taboo. Systems do change and develop but it is the handing back of the reins of usurped power and leadership to the rightful heir; life/mother earth, through living man/woman, that must be prevented at all costs. That is the crux. It is the place of man in his world that must -at all costs and to brutal extremes- be controlled to serve the superficially easy option to safety through life rejection, by poising all human capabilities, forces and resources against life and against nature to control and subdue them for "our" safety. What safety ? The safety found in the simple, safe, static, scientific, bipolar, reductionist view of self and the world; 0 :1 according to computer language .


It is however impossible to escape the 0 :1 logical conclusions that the culmination of this road is annihilation of life at the individual and at the mass level. In the second half of the twentieth century, the tail end of the quarter of a second on the figure 1 scale, the reality of a massive failure of our culture/civilisation to nurture life, to nurture the environment and to nurture Nature is upon us .


On the shortcomings of the relation between the "System" and the Human-being in modern Medicine
I will show you in a short while how medicine, instead of becoming patient-oriented or patient-centered has for a long time been made the superior instrument to be inflicted upon patients who are 'sucked' into the machine through their real and legitimate need, or through made up needs that do not exist in reality.
Modern medicine has enormous achievements, no doubt. But where do the ordinary people of Egypt and the so-called Third World stand in the middle of all that amazing array of respirators, computers, heart-lung machines, kidney, heart and liver transplants, auto-analysers, processors and impersonal uncheckable decision makers. Where do the ordinary European people, Western and Westernised people, stand in the middle of all this growing jungle of impersonal and expensive machines. A system of knowledge, skills and a technology that achieves truly wonderful things when the interventions are calculated wisely and timed sensitively but sometimes unwise and unnecessary interventions lead to monumental blunders and lead to enormous, unnecessary and even harmful expenditure of energy and resources.

Men and Women reduced to a label. Judged and classed a priori according to their label for promotion or for condemnation
An expected outcome of succumbing to a reductionist view
of self and the World
We look at second World War scenes of men being labelled by a priori judgements, being dehumanised and reduced to number and marks as they are led off to the particular concentration camp, prison, torture, army service, deportation, expatriation, re-education or the firing squad, or promotion according to their label etc. What we have just seen is one of the many variations of the process of reducing men to non-interactive a priori judgements while the social body passively watches as "they" are subjected to the various operations that the system has prescribed for their label. On seeing the picture, we, all of you, I have no doubt, shudder at the horror and atrocity. And yet is not a similar atrocity practised amongst us, by us, in so many other domains and in medicine and in the biological and social sciences, and also in society at large?
Did we shudder at the atrocity because in this picture it was obviously the Nazis who are automatic and easy "other" baddies, that are the perpetrators ? Have we lost the capacity for critical self analysis, that we do not see how naturally we practice the same process of reducing ourselves and "other" to dehumanised labels and a priori judgements.
In medicine, people are labelled as 'diseases'. In the field of mental disorder the phenomena is more obvious.


Phenomena that are incompletely understood or that are feared –
and all 'unknowns' are feared- are labelled. The labels in such
cases are always negative, derogatory, 'bad'.
The "others", who are labelled as different, pay. Whatever they have to go through -and it is not always as clear and materialised as physical torture and abuse as in the political prisons and in the concentration camps- is equally punitive and destructive. It is even more dangerous because it is much more subtle. On the surface it is so kind-hearted, 'loving', white, pure and clinical. To label, exteriorise, dehumanise, mechanise, and directly and indirectly condemn the "other" is a continuous violence that we practice as a "norm", as a habit. Little do we realise that we are thus practising violence upon ourselves and driving ourselves farther from happiness, integration and a creative response to the challenges of life on a personal and group level.


SOME PRACTICAL EXPERIMENTAL AND EXPERIENTIAL DATA
An analysis of current curricular and establishment approaches to medical education, research and practice has been extensively performed by our team (ref. 1,2,3,4).
In my field of Medicine there is nothing more exemplary of how removed from life medicine has become, than what the medical student goes through in "normal" contemporary medical education. There he is supposed to learn how to take care of people, take care of their health, how to help them achieve a concept of health that encompasses mental and physical well-being, interaction, integration and the possibility of creation.
In their first year they are bombarded with hours and hours of didactic information, they are locked up in laboratories manipulating chemicals in bottles and test tubes. They are made to spend hours dissecting cockroaches, frogs and homing pigeons . Each of their victims -specimens-- must be killed at first before it is scientifically examined. If the "specimen" was not killed, the creature involved had to be crucified or pinned and decerebrated or anaesthetised.
In the second and the third years, they are at last introduced to human beings. Dead bodies. They are made to go into dead bodies in minute disintegrating detail.
Promoted to the fourth year, they are made to go back to test tubes, slides, jars and bottles of illnesses, parts of humans in jars and pots and on slides. By the fifth year when; for contact with human beings and the drama of their life, health, illness, death and birth, crisis and regeneration, they have instead had intensive contact with jars, bottles, test tubes, dead rats, dogs, frogs, cockroaches, corpses and mountains of didactic information. They are now deemed fit to relate to living human beings.
I deal with these students and I am very concerned that what I teach is not the didactic stuff, not the mountains of information. I am concerned that they go through a process of growth, of sensitivity towards themselves, of sensitivity towards others. I am concerned that they develop sensitivity towards the messages and needs of human beings in transition and in crisis. A primary requisite for finding and developing the ability to help in crisis situations other than acute and hyper acute life threatening emergencies where for short spates only the technical and clinical skills of the medic and his support structures are needed.
What I have demonstrated on my work with 'normal' students with the 'best' western type education is a deep lack of awareness of the importance of communication, dialogue, understanding; deep lack of awareness that many crises in life and in health are developmental crises that need resolution not suppression and amputation whether it be by drugs and surgery; lack of awareness that most illnesses are multifactorial in their generation and are also in need of a multifaceted cross disciplinary response, where there is full co-operation between various elements and forces in the "patient's" life, for their resolution .


With the best of medics and would-be medics, I have frequently demonstrated what I came to refer to as the gradual expropriation of the sensorium as well as the gradual expropriation of expression potential, the "expressorium" to coin a new word.
This situation is associated with gradual breakdown of communication with self and with outside world. Some a priori external authority permitting code becomes absolutely essential for any action.
People with this syndrome are unable to recognise or "enjoy" in this case "act the enjoyment" of great art without a priori information by some mystified "authority" that what they are experiencing is "great". They would enjoy and admire Picasso and Stranvisky when they are told to do so by an a priori "authority". They are unable to differentiate either experience from color stains or from noise. They are unable to generate the recognition of an unauthorised Rembrandt or a Mozart themselves, within or without.
In the multiplying, high activity, high noise, high education, high civilisation crowd, rising isolation is taking place. Man (and woman) ceases to look to his brother for communication, but helplessly waits -playing the social games and making the social noises and climbing the social ladders- for sanctification and licence from a higher authority to do any thing unusual or to recognise and accredit anything creative and different. Expropriation achieved its goal. Vision is now absolutely focused onto 'the system', blinkered to all else awaiting the sanction of the system for any original act and blindly affirming the condemnations or praises that the system attributes to anything, everything.
Sensitivity to life is very low or nil.
When that truly frightening low is reached, this is the time to shower the expropriated "citizen, learner, grower-up, student" with laurels and graduate them as fully-fledged responsible decision makers and potential leaders in the socio­political order and in the services in their respective fields.
In medicine, as doctors are all the time seeing people in unpredictable crisis situations -physical, emotional or both- demanding unusual, and unpredictable creative responses, their performance can be especially poor and damaging when and where they are needed most and when and where they could potentially do the most good. A multidimensional crisis situation is almost always reduced to some small component of the whole -a component that appears (or is eligible for appearance) in the text books under one of the customary labels. A good diagnosis. (ref. 4, 5, 12, 14 )
Contemporary scientists and doctors see this gross and glaring anomaly obvious to an outside "philosopher/observer" as an anomaly, as perfectly 'normal' procedure. It is the norm .


In the absence of faith and loyalty to the creative, in the absence of awareness of life cycles, there is a manifest lack of imagination concerning the potential.
From that stance the growth-giving resolution inherent in crisis and / or in transition is a "load of idealistic or poetic nonsense". The only available model is what was before i. e. crisis-suppressing resolutions are automatically adopted and encouraged, regardless of whether this resolution is justified -as is the case sometimes- or disastrous as when a crisis is a developmental crisis. The assumption is that all crisis is "bad". The assumption is also that normality is a priori determined and not to be explored or discovered or achieved and re-achieved by process.
When the a priori available model of normality cannot be achieved, and in that reigning absence of consciousness of the developmental and development potential, those who fail to achieve the model must be branded as abnormal and handicapped.
I hope to continue to work with all who care in any and all disciplines to help a larger number of 'handicapped' acquire perception of this subtle and damaging circuit and breakaway from the hold of a label which is frequently artificial and unjustified.
I will proceed to present some experimental and experiential data showing how handicapped the sensorium (input) and expressive potential, the expressorium (output) of 'normal' has become. Instead of sitting back cosily wondering how we can 'help' the handicapped we may in parallel think and act to help ourselves become less handicapped; believing in and capable of sensitive creative responses to every situation.


We should and must maintain the continuous ability to learn and
especially to learn from those in transition and in crisis. The very people who we are conditioned to dismiss, despise, reject or at best patronise are the very people we have most to learn from.
How can we make the day closer when the all-powerful doctor / god or scientist/god, shall approach the most handicapped of his / her patients and humbly ask for knowledge. Humbly seeking to know the many dimensions of a problem so as to respond creatively in its resolution. Only in this radically new and challenging posture can we hope to offer resolutions to handicapped-ness in ourselves, in others and in our society, (figure 3 )


MORE EXPERIMENTAL AND EXPERIENTIAL DATA USING ART AS DIAGNOSTIC
One of the ways I have used to explore how handicapped is 'normal' is to use arts, music, painting and drama as diagnostic vehicles .
1 have taken my students in groups, rating from 10 to 15 and explored together their ability to express themselves using various means . Certain patterns representing the major direction emerge, there are exceptions naturally :
Music : first we came across very important, very difficult barriers. The barrier of technique and 'learning' :
" I haven't learnt how."
" I was never taught to express myself at school".
" I don't know".
" I was never taught to understand music".
So we work to get over these barriers, only to discover that the barrier of technique is really a useful defence, something to hide how shy, embarrassed and crippled we really are within our normal socially OK. facade, in the simple goal of being able to express oneself in non-verbal ways.
We shift to painting :

It is very illuminating to note the difficulty and sometimes the agony that some 'normal' medical, and non-medical students have to bridge, patiently, to make a sound or simply smear a canvas with anything, any colour/s.


We use drama sometimes. At one point in the drama, exploring certain primordial memory areas; birth, death, jealousy, sexuality, pocessiveness, discovery, rejection the group wanted, they needed to scream. They could not scream. We had a very long, very difficult period to achieve a scream . (ret 6 )
After the difficult initial sequences, I introduced very simple instruments that do not need technique. Varieties of percussion and pianos (used as note generators). No 'training' is needed. These are instruments that simply offer themselves as potential expressive pathways vehicles. It was most surprising to witness repeated episodes of severe suffering.
This phenomenon of "expropriation of expressive rights," and "expropriation of the sensorial rights" kept cropping up painfully in our path.
When finally the difficult inculcated expression barrier was bridged, a very interesting phenomenon emerged. It appeared that each student had become or rather been educated to become an isolated island in a state of complete non­communication with "other". Complete inaction was at the later stages substituted with a state of extreme aggressive noise generation, in the sense that force was substituted for intensity. A very limited range of the instrument was explored. The instruments were frequently damaged physically. The person with the most powerful instrument was quite ready to overpower everybody else for the whole length of the session.
Several sessions were needed to : -
- discover awareness of others
- discover qualities and expressive ranges of instrument
- discover damage limits
- discover the possibilities of varied dynamics
- discover the ability to respond to others and create harmonies, rhythms,
counterpoints, that were not entirely solo : that were not entirely "self", locked on the amazing bipolar seesaw of complete submission / complete domination.
Painting groups frequently demonstrated the same phenomena. First the usual gulf of technique, but eventually there was demonstrated many subjective phenomena including the profound inhibition in the use of colour, the use of repetitive decoration elaborating on formulae patterns. Above all the most significant and less subjective observation , which you see clearly on the slides, is how for many sessions each member of these groups of "friends" used their chosen or allotted corner of the canvas as though other/s did not exist at all.
I suggest that these slides made from the work of the painting groups, point out to a phenomenon of breakdown of communication, breakdown of meaningful feed-in and feedback (ref. 7 ).
The results of repeated experiments and experiences continue to warn us that human beings within the education system and under the "normal" social upbringing forces we subject them to, in modern western and "westernised" societies, and certainly doctors and medical students, tend to develop into something of these modern walkman machine-men.


Men going around with two ears, symbolic sensorium, plugged, their whole body, symbolic expressorium, riveted in an autistic state refusing, unable and / or too frightened any more to communicate within and without outside the selfish, automatic, mechanistic and reductionist patterns inculcated in them. They had been conditioned and pressurised into selfish, limited and automatic postures so that inspite of "acting" socially as congenial social beings and inspite of acting "relation", they were frequently not relating and alone, even in "the crowd". So limited and expropriated -sensorium and expressorium- their real interests are reduced to the tangible material things -amass and consume-- in a very limited self centred sphere. The process by which vision, dreams, communication and imagination is generated has been avulsed from the roots.
It is rather frightening when you think that this work is with 'normals', not only with "ordinary" normals but with the "creme de la creme" of normals accepted in the privileged Universities to study top rated subjects like medicine on the basis of being the most brilliant performers in highly competitive exams. Is there something wrong with these competitive exams ? What are these exams measuring then ?
These are the people who are going to be responsible for human individual and societal health. These are future decision makers who are going to make vital decisions for families and individual patients in crisis and in transition journeying through some of the most critical, delicate and frightening passages of human existence. These are also the decision makers regarding research, education and evaluation.
It is important to point out at this juncture that as the participants in these experiences rediscover their sensory, expressive, integrative and interactive potential, their performance in all the clinical medical fields, fields having to do with living human beings, shows a highly significant improvement as assessed by patients, their families and their friends. That improvement is also shown as assessed by a humanistic life centered interactive evaluation patiently developed by some of us and deeply resisted by the forces for protection of the status quo.
Expressive / communicative arts had not only acted as diagnosis but also as therapy to the 'handicapped' therapists. A very real hope for the future. (ref. 6,7, 18).


DISCUSSION
A PLEA FOR RELATIVITY IN THE SCIENCES DEALING WITH HUMANS !
At the dawn of the twenty first century, living beings are still considered much less important than matter, atoms, electrons and neutrons. Sciences and applications dealing with life, with society and with economics doggedly refuse to enter the age of interactive-dynamic-relativity.
Scientific thought, method, concept and application in physics has had to undergo radical changes (ret. 9), while paradoxically it has remained quite intransigently rigid in biology, medicine, psychology, sociology and economics (ref. 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 19). Living beings so far are treated as much weaker, much less relevant beings than gravity, radiation, time/space, atomic particles and subatomic particles, electrons, positions, neutrons and neutrinos.
Medicine, psychology, psychiatry, sociology and economics arrogantly resist the changes needed to become life centred, dynamic and interactive regardless of the rampant destruction they sometimes are seen to cause in their outdated and limited posture (ref. 5, 10, 15, 19).
In the majority of instances, their now inappropriate systems of "scientific" thought have solved the challenges and messages presented by life, by nature and by earth, not by development but by allying themselves to forces that put them higher, more important, more fundamental than life, than living man and than Nature. Rather than undergo interactive change and development in humility these sciences have opted for power. The rightful leaders and guides for science and technology -Life, Nature, Earth- are perceived as dangerous, subversive forces continuously generating an unwelcome challenge, continuous disturbers of the peace. In this arrogant posture of supremacy through "power", modern medicine has convinced almost everyone of its dramatic role in improving the health and prolonging the life of populations when on deep analysis this assumption is exposed as false (ref. 5, 12, 14). Inculcating that false assumption is very important however to convince millions to hand all, to that miraculous modem medicine that has "saved" them and their fathers and will continue to save their children, if they are good and hand "supremacy", authority and power to this mystified god, allied with the other "gods" that handle human affairs. They must acquiesce to the expropriation of health if they and their children are not to be cruelly deprived of all the great and manifest advantages of high powered all powerful modern medicine.
There is however, mounting evidence that the major advances in health and longevity occurred with the introduction of clean and running water, sewage disposal, improved nutrition, housing and environmental improvement.


I firmly believe that, in addition to the above, major health, behavioural and environmental improvements have taken place, and will continue to take place, as humans hesitantly and slowly progress along the road of accepting themselves as worthy beings, worthy of love, respect and care, worthy of joy, happiness and well being and capable of reciprocating these qualities, instead of being indoctrinated to see themselves as dirty, despicable, irrelevant, guilty and riddled with sin, original and acquired*.
The peak -or low- of that doctrine of original sin and original guilt is where men are perceived as natural canon fodder and authority slaves in a bizarre and endless struggle for power and "glory" by their patrons, carers and mentors.
The women --also dirty, sinful and deeply tainted- are to conceive in pain and shame and give birth in pain and shame till their sinful bodies are consumed. Glimpses of pleasure or joy are to be suppressed as reprehensible lust and degraded animal feelings. Dynamism, interactive orientations and integration have to be prevented at all costs to prevent the perception of pleasure as an elevating, integrating, liberating and ennobling experience**. The material must remain -by force if necessary-- separated from the spiritual.
The tragedy is that the potentially healthy reaction against these postures of abuse and guilt generation, starting in the sixties have been taken over and systematised into new inculcated reductionist and mechanised behavioural patterns pressurised by the new "liberated" society rather than internally and creatively generated. Girls and boys at puberty or even before, are almost forced by "freedom", "liberation" and with-itness" pressures to indulge in perineal sex, to "prove themselves", re-generating the fountains of guilt, fear and dynamics of inadequacy and unfulfilment leading to neuroses, insecurity and insatiability. Happiness, "self" and "other-self" love, integration still elude the "free" pressurised into role-playing "freedom". To let be, to let grow, to love, to accept, to integrate is a "process" that still eludes the social and conceptual fabric so far created by the "liberated".
The other part of the tragedy is that the millions of abused, confused and underprivileged "life-mass" in the Southern hemisphere, have so far failed to see the enormous potential of the sixties Euro-American movements for life-based, integrative values. The South is also still not aware enough of the importance of the eighties and nineties Earth, Life and Ecology movements. Yet another major potential ally for life and Earth generated evaluation and values.

Anticlimax!
Rather than look into the challenging data, the loud messages, modern medicine, like much of modern 'science' and application in psychology, sociology and economics, blithely goes on inflicting itself on man and nature, and if man or if nature fails to react / respond as is predicted and is desirable scientifically the fault is man's or nature's. *
AN UNTIRING CRITICAL EXAMINATION OF EDUCATION IS NEEDED
AN UNTIRING CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF WHAT EXACTLY THE EDUCATIONAL
FORCES ARE INCULCATING IN CURRENT GENERATIONS
AND IN GENERATIONS TO COME
By analysing the sort of educational system that the privileged minorities in medicine set up for students to learn medicine, and by practical demonstration (ref. 1, 2, 7 ), I have demonstrated how the inculcation of insensitivity to man as a 'whole multi-sided living being', is produced while purportedly the "process" is trying to achieve the opposite. I have demonstrated the bias towards treating labellable diseases with drugs and surgery. I have -in parallel with many other workers-demonstrated the gross imbalance and the 'Cinderella' position of preventive medicine, whole person health care and emergency medicine in relation to flashy treatment of system classified diseases. I, with several others, have attempted to document this process in other papers and publications (ref. 1, 4, 5, 11, 12, 14).
There is overwhelming evidence that the same phenomenon is recurrent in many other fields, of 'scientific' education, research and practice. I have shown how the medical student, initially full of life, love, good will and human sensitivity, is systematically 'educated' to become disintegrated, life insensitive, feelingless, mercenary and callous. This is no accident.
Much of Medicine in our age -together with other social and biological sciences - suffers the shortcoming of not being able to find the path to the acceptance of man and life as a reference point. Our recent history is one continuous tragedy of a determined attempt to make the greater, life, man, nature, subservient to the lesser; the system/power.
* An expression not infrequently used in medical circles with full seriousness "the operation was a complete success but the patient died" or according to Ernest Hemingway, shortly before his suicide in 1961, "they cured the disease but killed the man."


DEALING WITH MANIFEST DISEASES IS DEALING WITH ONLY A VERY SMALL
PART OF THE PROBLEM OF ACHIEVING, MAINTAINING AND RECOVERING
HUMAN HEALTH
I have at length demonstrated the damaging responses of non-life centered, non-man centered, non-patient-centered, non-learner centered, non-social centered, cross discipline-resistant Medicine and Medical establishment, to the challenge of educating doctors. In its response to other challenges of health care, disease prevention, emergency intervention, crisis resolution, responsiveness to transition, responsiveness to inherited or acquired subnormal or supranormal or paranormal abilities, traits and potentials, current medicine and medical education is expectedly wanting.
Most of the energies of that Medicine and of the medical establishment, are concentrated on a minute proportion the 'health' problem; the treatment of manifest, labelable diseases. We need to realise clearly that that is a minute part of the Health problem. Even in the domain of treating manifest and labellable disease, an objective analysis springs many surprises (ref. 4, 5, 11, 12, 14 ).
Allopathic medicine plays an important role. It has many achievements, especially in the fields of intervention in, accidents and in life threatening emergency situations when and were physiological homeostatic and healing mechanisms have been stretched or are likely to be stretched beyond their limits.
Rather than modestly come to terms with its inherent limitations and ally with an open heart and mind to "OTHER" systems of knowledge, prevention, intervention, catalysis and resolution, modern medicine frequently attempts to hide its fundamental failures by volleys of distracting fireworks trying to prove that it is still all-powerful
High technology and high powered life support, organ transplant and other 'wizardries' -magnificent tools and techniques as they can be when harnessed for the service of humanity and its health, happiness and well-being- are brandished to dazzle the uninformed public and blackmail the better informed critics. While it has become the fashion to shamelessly mass propagate - through mass media pictures and news of the 'dazzling' medical' achievements'- to the public all over the world (including to the starving, deprived and terrorised millions). Everybody admits that no provision whatever is made to provide these 'dazzling' possibilities to the billions who are now made to dream that their abused and unlived lives will somehow be saved and prolonged by these magnificent techniques and machines responsive only to the hands and minds of these undialoguical* semigods. Through these implicit promises, temptations and "carrots" - acknowledged by everybody to be false, and impossible to fulfil for the majority- the deluded millions are made to hand authority over their life and health and well-being to others be it the medical profession or other authorities and professions perpetuating this expropriation game.
* Borrowing the expression from Martin Buber.


This is not very out of tune with the tendency to expropriate most basic political and human rights practised crudely by brute force and by the gun or indirectly through mass media and control of input information and data.
More than 99% who - thanks to the propaganda of mass media - look upon this brand of western modern medicine, as well as many brands of brandished goods, practices and values, to save or prolong their postponed lives, will never get the flimsiest chance of sampling the benefit -or the harm - themselves. It is like some macabre lottery where hypnotised millions buy the propaganda because every now and then one wins the million dollars. The dream! That "one" in a million, is made such a 'fuss' of in the mass media that the story of the 'one' dominates consciousness while the plight of the 999, 999 is forgotten.
The majority go to their deaths --having been turned into submissive passive uncreative and unproductive waiting agents- waiting for the dream to be materialised and presented to them by the 'others' who somehow promised them they would .
Millions are still waiting. Resentment, despair and desperation mounting. Fertile breeding ground for violent eruptions within -implosions- or without -explosions- against self, against "other", against authority, against the World.
As the above dynamics operate
Health becomes a prohibitively expensive luxury
available only to the privileged few, even in the most privileged
countries
In its posture of opting for the supremacy of high technology treatment of diseases instead of opting primarily for health care and prevention, with high technology treatments of disease occupying its rightful part within the health care strategy, medicine has raised the cost of medical care and diminished its cost-effectiveness.
In its posture of neglect of prevention, of pre pathology states and causes, in its neglect of role of patient, friends, peers, in its neglect of understanding of the life cycle and cyclicality, in its disdain of the possible contributions to preventive or therapeutic goals of alternative approaches including music and the arts, in its dissociation from social or environmental commitment, in all these postures and many more modern medicine is making health an unattainably expensive dream for the majority.
As emphasis is shifted in practice, education and research from humanistic health care, multi and cross disciplinary participatory prevention with active patient and populace participation, to high technology high powered treatment of complicated diseases, the cost of medical care becomes expectedly prohibitive. The cost will continue to rise. As the cost - to individuals and to society - of medical care, education and research rockets up, its 'achievements' and 'miracles' are brandished with more vigour while, fewer people are able to benefit from it. The less politically powerful and materially powerful members of society and/or of the international order, will suffer and will fall neglected and embittered by the way side.


These groups include, within the national community, the old, the infirm, the handicapped, the poor, the unemployed, the in-transition and in-crisis, the "different" members of the community. At the international level this inappropriateness, unattainability and neglect of the existing forces of science, medicine and technology, will encompass millions of the southern hemisphere. A most amazing impasse. We are in this impasse now.
Back to my opening assertions : Medicine, as a human and humane health care system, is in crisis.
With the new concepts
new patterns of relations within the health care situation must emerge
How deeply I feel the continued perpetuation of the misorientation and the unjustified denial of medicine's real crisis when I see the shy embarrassed, hesitant, "auxiliaries" and paramedics vital "others" in the health, or handicapped care situation, when the M. D. makes his / her pronouncements.
All these; nurse, nutritionist, social worker, psychologists, physiotherapist, music therapist, art, therapist, drama therapist, story teller, assistants, students, relatives, friends, healers and the patient blush and disappear into nothingness in the classical confrontation scene with the M. D. Representative of the all powerful medical establishment.
Let this paper be a reminder to them that they must evolve the ability to work together, they need never be intimidated or purely subservient to the M. D., except in rare self evident emergencies where there is no time or space for interaction and process.
Even if modern medicine and decision making medics have yet failed to set the conceptual and behavioural lead, we must all strive in the health professions to serve the patient and patiently gain and welcome co-operation of all possible forces involved for this magnificent goal as long as the forces are harmonised by an overall vision.
To do so we must remain life aware and life sensitive within and without. This is no easy task. It is a task which needs dedicated learning -and an openness to learn continuously- it needs enormous loving and mutual support. It is a task of undramatic, forceful but gentle resistance to intimidation and/or temptation by the various 'systems'. It is a task that needs art and especially music as diagnostic, therapeutic and as supportive food.
Let this paper also be a reminder that there is a place for many approaches to a given health problem. There is a necessity for multi-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary approaches. The nature of health problems in humans is multifactorial, multi-dimensional and dynamic.
So much is opened up when we see, the patient as leader and director and are therefore obliged to listen. As we learn to listen and teach the art and love of listening then we can discover and know the music of ourselves, of others, of living beings, of Earth and of the universe and then we can serve and then we can listen more and learn anew.


CONCLUSION
In the impasse that modern medicine has taken health and in the parallel impasse that modern science has led humanity at large, one of our major hopes is to learn to listen to the music within and without. To be able to tap this music to get in touch with the life force that is our major hope. To underline this impasse we are in , let me point to the contradictions of millions of humans of all ages succumbing yearly to dire fatal or permanently destructive diseases that are preventable by simple environmental, behavioural, or nutritional measures, while mass media hypnotise us to hand all to the "magicians" who transplant hearts, livers and insert mechanical pumps instead of hearts*.
Let me also point out to the contradictions of the fact that modern sciences have provided for each living man, woman or child enough explosive power to tear them to smithereens -overkill as they technically call it - but has failed to provide millions of men, women and children with clean water or with the handful of rice or wheat that they need not to spend the next night starving under the same skies.
We are all together on spaceship earth. Inescapably responsible, and inescapably interconnected. We need to be able to listen to each other to tap forces and knowledge for integration, resolution and survival. We need to understand, learn, teach and modify our behaviour and the posture of our institution in the direction of life and Earth reverence and support, or we sink together (ret. 10,15,16).
From a scientific point of view what we see all over the world is perhaps no contradiction at all. There are no receptors in all-powerful science for 'petty human consideration'. Science is quickly creating a world with no place for 'petty human1 considerations in it. Inhuman economics reign where recession, unemployment, death destruction and ruination for millions and more life shattering actions in the domain of health are decided and undecided according to theory by erudite "economists" and theoreticians. It is an era that has seen a rampant arms trade, unprecedented impersonal killing, rampant drugs trade, dire threats to environment, mounting extinction of animal and plant species, unprecedented pollution of air, seas and waterways. It is an era where the drug and arms trade represent the biggest international trade activity while horrendous statistics tell us of how many children are dying per day from preventable causes, and how many millions are dispossessed and displace because of unnecessary "modernised" warfare sold and exported to "non-modernised" societies.
* I am of course speaking of a strategic posture and of a choice about the most effective distribution of resources and of the educational and learning orientation necessary to serve the goal of health the most effective way in a National and International context. In the individual case, a high powered liver transplant supported by the most sophisticated machinery may be the only remaining solution. This is a fact that had to be accepted and integrated in the wider scheme for health, without allowing these extreme cases, that in themselves frequently represent failure of preventative and predictive approaches, to dominate the strategy orientation of health care.


The struggle is now frantic between America and Japan to build super and supra-super computers to support the systems that control our lives and expropriate our sensory input and motor output.
I suggest that out of this conference of remarkable men and women aware of the depth of the crisis of modern medicine and modern science there should develop an international cross-disciplinary group and network. As I have outlined there is so much that can be done and needs to be done. Amongst the early goals there should be amplification and support of the positive aspects of modern medicine especially in the fields of patient centred health care (ref. 17, 18, 19, 2), prevention and high quality emergency management.
There should be included amongst the goals the enormous task of humanising medicine, biological and social sciences. We should undertake to do to these sciences what atomic and subatomic particles are forcing physicists to do, namely, re-introducing relativity, interactive and dynamic, re-introducing music into their world.

تأمل حزين من مذكرات نائب في قصر العيني

عندما تتحول القيادات الفنية و العلمية إلي تعيينات سياسية منغمسة في العمل علي الحفاظ علي الرضا و في الادارة لصالح التوجيه السياسي الرائد الأول لصناعة القرارو للتقدم الوظيفي أو للنبذ و التهميش، ينهار العلم وتنهار المهارة و تذوي القدرة و الجرأة علي الابتكار و التجريب و الاستكشاف و الابداع و يختفي المثل الأعلي المعلم المرشد المبدع من وجدان الشباب لتحل محله المخاوف المزمنة من الرئاسات السلطوية التي لا تعلم ولا تنمي مواهب الشباب و لا قدراته بقدر ما تربيه علي الطاعة و الانصياع و الخوف من قرارات عشوائية بلا أسباب أو مقدمات أو حيثيات.

و كل هذا يهون ويمكن أن يجري اصلاحه مع الوعي و حسن التشخيص والانجذاب الطبيعي لحلاوة العلم و التفوق و الخدمة العامة الانسانية المتميزة، لو لم يكن هذا التردي يتم قي ظل بنيان من الأكاذيب يضخم بشكل مرضي في الانجازات الهائلة و المعجزات و البراعة المتصورة ليحبس القيادات و التابعين في أوهام التفوق و العظمة و الحقيقة تخلف و تراجع علي المستوي العلمي و الانساني و الأدائي و التركيبة كلها تقاوم أي آلية للتغذية المرتجعة الحيادية مقاومة مستميتة بعدوان و سرية ضد الشفافية وضد أي تحليل موضوعي للأداء، توازي ما يحدث في الحروب ولا نعرف الحقائق إلا عن طريق الصدمات عندما نفاجأ بالفجوة الهائلة بين تصوراتنا و أوهامنا و الواقع المر، و الثمن يدفعه باهظا أبرياء و مظاليم كثيرون من كل المستويات و الاتجاهات

في أول أيامي كطبيب امتياز ثم كطبيب مقيم تعرضت لما لا يخطر علي البال من هدم منهجي لكل الآمال و الأحلام الكبري التي كانت تجيش بها صدورنا كأطباء شبان سنغير من وجه الحياة علي أرض الوطن الحبيب.. كانت البداية هي التبعية لمدير عسكري لا يفهم في الطب إلا أقل القليل وكان يصدر أوامره لنا بطريقة عسكرية آمرة جافة ثم صدمة اكتشاف قوي جديدة غامضة تتحكم في المستشفي و الكلية ويخشاها الجميع بما فيهم أساتذه لنا كنا نعتبرهم مثل عليا واكتشفنا لمبات حمراء تضاء علي مكتب الأستاذ تمنع الجميع عدي "شباب" غامض يأتي ويروح بحرية وعنجهية لم نعهدها في مشوارنا عبر العلماء الذين كانوا مثالا للعظمة و التواضع معا و أذكر منهم عبد الحميد جوهر،شفيق الريدي، علي حسن أنور المفتي، عدلي الشيخ،حليم قلدس جريس والعجيب حقا أن المتغيرات الجديدة قادت إلي اختفاء هذه الأحجام من الأساتذة و ظهر ما يمكن أن نسميه الأساتذة الصغار، نوعية جديدة ستصبح في الجامعة مثل الطاعون يزيح أمامه كل شيء صحي وصالح،

إحترم خصوصيات و مجالات الآخرين. و لا تلمس ملكية خاصة للآخرين و خصوصا الأشياء و المقدسات الدينية. هذا محرم.

ألا نجد في هذا الفكر الراقي أثمن و أرقي ما في التشريعات السماوية وهو يذكرنا من جهة بأنه ما من أمة إلا ووصلها نور الهداية بطرق نعرفها أو لا نعرفها و علينا أن نقر و نعترف بهذه الحقيقة و ما تحمل من نتائج علي رأسها عدم إحتكار الحقيقة لفئة معينة مهما كانت. كما تناقض هذه الروعة و الرقي مفهوم أن المجتمع الانساني متوحش جاهلي ظلامي بالطبيعة و أن الوصايا العشر هي بداية المدنية و التمدين أنزلها الله علي شعبه المختار دون غيره.

ومن جهة أخري علينا تحركنا هذه البساطة و هذا الجمال إلي البحث عن الدين الجوهري الحي في الكتب السماوية بعيدا عن كل تنويعات الكهنوت و المؤسسات الدينية و الدنيوية صاحبة المصلحة، و اليقين بأن الشريعة تأتي علي هدي وارشاد جماع التنزيل و ما يقودنا إليه الفهم الكلي و التفقه العميق لكل التنزيل، و ليس في نصوص منزوعة من سياقها و مترجمة حسب حدود فهم و رغبات الحكام بالسيف، يتبعهم الفقهاء و مدعي العلم.

تعليق علي كتاب نجيب محفوظ المحطة الأخيرة

تأملات طبيب حول كتاب "نجيب محفوظ المحطة الأخيرة" للأستاذ محمد سلماوى

يأبى إبن مصر العظيم نجيب محفوظ إلا أن يعلمنا فى الحياة وفى المرض وفى الموت . دروس فى منتهى البساطة وفى منتهى العمق معا يبلورها لنا الأستاذ محمد سلماوى فى كتابه القيم والمؤلم في نفس الوقت . فأولاً يبدو إنه عندنا لا يزال طب المسنيين غائباً عن وعينا الطبى تدريساً وبحثاً وممارساً . ويعرف الأطباء الذين لديهم خبرة بهذه الأمور أن دخول المستشفيات والبقاء فيها للمسن له إشتراطات صارمة وله معايير صارمة و حساسة أيضاً ويصبح تحويل المسن إلى المستشفى خطراً مستطيراً على صحته وعلى حياته ما لم تتواجد هذه المعرفة بكل دقة .

من أول معلومات طب المسنين، أن المسن حينما يرغم على تغيير محيطه وينقل إلي مستشفى، قد يؤدى هذا التغير وحده إلى إرتباك فى الوعى وإلى توهان . المسن يحافظ على نفسه بحسابات دقيقة وحساسة جداً بعد أن يفقد بطبيعة السن مرونة التكيف العالى مع أية تغيرات فهو فى محافظتة علي حياته و صحته و الأمان لنفسه –و هو دائما الأعلم بخطوات و مقتضيات هذه المحافظة- يعتمد على المعرفة الدقيقة بإرتفاع السرير وبطبيعة الحمام وإرتفاع وإنخفاض الكرسى الذى سيجلس عليه ويقوم منه و و ضع و طبيعة أية عوائق في المكان معرفة تنبع من خليط من الحدس و التمرين المتكرر و الاستعمال الكفء للحواس احسرت قدراته إلي حد كبير و هي تكيفات حيوية و لكن لم تعد بها مرونة تسمح بالتغيير بدون برتوكول و حساسية خاصة. ومن هنا إستقر رأى الأطباء الحكماء على تضييق و تحديد قرارات نقل المسن إلى المستشفى ومدد البقاء فيها إلى أدنى حد ممكن وذلك لضرورات قصوى فقط . والطبيب الذى يعى بهذا كان سيصر إصراراً كاملاً علي عودة الأستاذ إلى منزله فور تخييط الجرح الذى فى رأسه وعمل أية أبحاث أو متابعة ضرورية كمريض خارجى بمصاحبة إناس يعرفهم ويثق فيهم من العائلة والأصدقاء مع التحكم الصارم في الزيارات غير الضرورية و غير المفيدة.

ومن المخاطر الكبيرة إدخال عناصر جديدة أو أشخاص جدد أو إجراءات طبية أو تمريضية على وعى المسن دون تمهيد وشرح وافى وواضح و الحصول علي الاذن و الموافقة الغير قسرية إلا في حالة الطواريء الخاصة فقط.

بعد ذلك ننبه إلى أن رد فعل المسن للعقاقير وللمهدئات له قوانينه الخاصة جداً. وما قد يعتبر للشخص العادى جرعة عادية بل صغيرة قد يؤدى فى المسن إلى توهان أو حتى غيبوبة تجذب إليها ما تجذب من مضاعفات.

التعامل مع المسن كأنه طفل غير مسئول وغصب الإجراءات أو التدخلات عليه وتجاهل طلباته خطأ عظيم وإستمرار ضار لعلاقتنا السلطوية التى تمتد عبر علاقات المريض بالطبيب عامة. نفترض أن المريض كائن سلبى عليه مجرد الطاعة والإنصياع . وعلى الطبيب فى هذه الأحوال أن يراعى المواصفات الخاصة لمريضه وردود الأفعال والتكيفات الخاصة التى يحتاجها في ظروف المرض و الخطر و القلق وعلي الطبيب الحكيم أن يعي تماما أن المريض أي مريض – فما بالك بأمثال نجيب محفوظ أو توفيق الحكيم؟!- له كيان و له حدود و حساسيات خاصة بعضها ينبع ويتولد من تقلص عمل الحواس الخاصة مثل السمع والبصر و لكن لا يعني ذلك ابدا أنه فقد حقوق الاستئذان الحساس قبل اقتحام عالمه لفعل أو إجراء ما، مهما كانت النوابا حسنة . وتقلص الحواس يضع المريض بالطبيعة فى حالة دفاع وقلق وتعثر فى الوعى بما يحدث ولماذا يحدث . وعلينا كأطباء الدفاع عن مريضنا ضد العلم الحديث الذى لا يعرف حدوده و كثيرا ما يعتقد مخطئاً أن مهمة التدخل ولو بالغصب لقهر الحياة علي الاستمرار بالقوة الجبرية، عمل مبرر في كل الأحوال و في كل المراحل السنية. وهذا المفهوم المطبق عندنا هو مفهوم خاطئ طبياً وخطير فسيولوجياً . وفى هذه الحالة نتذكر فقط بكثير من الحزن الغرور الطبى المعتاد للأطباء صغارا و كبارا قبل أن يصلوا إلي الحكمة و هو منظور ذهني كثيرا ما يحمل المريض و احبائه في رحلته الأخيرة أعباء و معاناة و عذابات لا داعي لها. علينا أن نتعلم ان نكون خداما جيدين و مخلصين للحياة و لوظائف الأعضاء مع التخلي عن غرور السيطرة إلي حكمة التفاعل الحساس المتعلم دائما.

ومن جهة أخرأتذكر بصفة خاصة ما كنا نسميه ونحن نواب فى مستشفي قصر العينى ( Recomnenditis Syndrome ( أى ظاهرة التوصية الخاصة للمريض الهام التى ينبع منها دائماً مضاعفات للمريض وهذا عندنا ترجع جذوره إلي أن المريض الخاص الموصى عليه من جهات عليا يحدث إرتباك فى ديناميات الرعاية الطبية الجيدة و الحساسة أو لها وأخطرها أن مناظير فريق الرعاية الطبية تتحول من التركيز الكامل على المريض واحتياجاته و حساسياته و مشاكله و مخاطره، إلى التركيز على إستكمال ما هو ضرورى من إجراءات و تدخلات ليمكنهم أن يؤكدوا للجهات العليا عند الإستفسار والسؤال إنه "كله تمام يا فندم" حسب توجيهاتكم السامية وهذا أخطر ما يمكن على عملية صنع القرار بالنسبة للمريض المسن فى حالة حرجة.

يعود إلى الذهن أيضا مجال خطير للقصور فى تعليمنا الطبى وممارستنا وهو ضعف الوعى بحساسية كيمياء الدم وسرعة تغيراتها وضرورة التعامل معها بحساسية فائقة مع العلم بصعوبة الترجمة الحقيقية لانعكاس ارقامها علي مستوي أداء الخلايا و الأنسجة، و اعترافنا بقصور الفحوص المعملية احيانا عن نقل صورة دقيقة لللأحداث علي مستوي الخلايا و الأنسجة مفهوم جديد نسبيا في الطب حتي في مجالات بسيطة مثل مستويات السكر والأملاح والسوائل والحموضة والقلونة وكلها فى المسنين تؤثر تأثيراً سريعاً على درجة الوعى و المهم فيها وظائف نسيجية و خلوية ليست لنا في الأغلب نوافذ فعالة عليها إلا بتعاون عبر تخصصي عال جدا نفتقده . وهناك إجراءات صارمة بالنسبة لمريض الوعى المتغير فى المستشفى تمنع حادث وقوعه من السرير و هو الحدث الذى يعتبر بالنسبة للمعايير السليمة في مستشفي متقدم خطأ لا يغتفر، وهناك بروتوكلات دقيقة وصارمة لمنع هذه الكارثة وبالنسبة للمسن فإن الوقوع من السرير أو الوقوع أثناء الذهاب للحمام أو العودة منه قد يكون حادثة تبدو لغير العارفين حادثة بسيطة ولكن للعارفين قد تكون حادثة النهاية أو حكما بالاعدام . وغني عن القول أن الطريق إلى تأمين المسن فى المستشفى، إذا كان لابد من تواجده فيها، مع تفضيل التواجد المنزلى كما أسلفنا، يكون ليس عن طريق التحكم فى المسن بالتعسف و التداخلات القسرية ولكن عن طريق مهارة طبية وسيكولوجية و تمريضية خاصة وعن طريق غرف مجهزة لرعاية المسن مؤمنة بطريقة حساسة مع الحفاظ علي منظور ذهني و تعليمي و سلوكي لا يسمح بتداخلات مكروهة فى صلاحيات المريض المسن وحرياته.

طبعاً من أهم أخطار دخول المسن بل والإنسان العادى إلى المستشفيات إلتقاطه لميكروب من الميكروبات التي تتكاثر في جو المستشفيات، وتطور الأمر إلى إلتهاب رئوى مشهور يعرف عندننا فى الطب على إنه إلتهاب رئوى ينتج من التواجد في المستشفي Nosocomial infection)) وعندما تسوء الحالة فى ظل ديناميات التوصيات المشددة على مريض خاص جداً، تتحول الديناميات والتداخلات في وعي المريض المتلقي إلي اعتداء غير مطلوب و هو ما أشار إليه محمد سلماوى حينما نقل لنا فى صفحة 69 عن الأستاذ / نجيب محفوظ " أرجوكم سيبونى كفاية !؟ " وربما قال " عايز أروح " ثم أخيراً "بعد أن أسكتنا فمه بالمهدئ وربطنا يده فى الإطار الحديدى للسرير لم يبقى لنا إلا أن يقول لنا ما يريد بالدم من معدته" وذلك له علاقة بما أقحم عليه من مضادات حيوية فى جرعات عالية و من تغذية صناعية عن طريق أنبوب فى المعدة لا يتناغم مع ما تعود جهازه الهضمى على تلقيه فى ظل نظامه الصارم والحساس مع نفسه.

وكأن الأستاذ لا يكتفى فى رحلته الأخيرة هذه بتعليمنا الكثير عن أوجه القصور فى تعاملاتنا الطبية مع المسنين تعليما و بحثا و ممارسة، وكذلك اضطراب البروتوكولات الطبية مع الشخصيات العظيمة والخاصة والتى لها بالطبيعة حساسيات خاصة يكون من الخطر الكبير تخطيها وإهمالها وإنكارها، ولكنه بعد وفاته يستمر الدرس ويعطينا درساً قاسياً آخر مؤاده أنه هناك من صناعى القرار من أعتقد أن التكريم الأعظم هو دفن الرجل العظيم إبن مصر وإبن الشعب المصرى بحق فى جنازة عسكرية، تماماً مثلما أعتقد أخرون أن تكريم هذا الرجل العظيم الذي دخل مستشفى الشرطة بجرح بسيط فى فروة الرأس، يتم بحجزه و "تكريمه" بالحد الأقصي من الاجراءات العلاجية و المبالغة فيها ولم يدرى هؤلاء- بكل حسن نية بالتأكيد- أن التواجد فى المحيط العادى العائلى المنزلى أكثر أمناً وأفضل ألف مرة من التواجد فى أفضل وأفخم غرفة عناية مركزة فى أعظم مستشفى فى العالم، كما لم يدرى آخرون أن هناك ما هو أعظم بكثير من الجنازة العسكرية، ألا وهو الجنازة الشعبية المنظمة، والنتيجة أن الآلاف بل الملايين من محبى هذا الرجل العظيم الذى وجه منظاره المبدع دائماً إلى الشعب المصرى من العصر القديم إلى العصر الحديث مثرياً عطاءه بإهتمام غير مسبوق بالانسان العادي في كل أحواله و بالحرافيش، تم عزل "الناس" رفقاء حياته و فكره و ابداعه، ومنعهم من المشاركة ومن التعبير وكأن التكريم والتعظيم قد تحول إلى إختزال وعزل وتصغير قسرى، وهو درس وأى درس حتى وإن كان هذا الإختزال لا يؤثر فى عظمة ومكانة نجيب محفوظ التي هي أكبر بكثير من طبيعة الجنازة التى فرضت بهدف التكريم والتعظيم فأخطأت الهدف .

From the Cruel God to the God of mercy and of LOVE, Birth of EXPLOITATION in human evolution plus related poem:"Towards release from blackmail"

On the history of exploitation:

Imagine yourself with the very earliest human groups at the dawn of human consciousness. That fascinating, miraculous, musical process that differentiated humans from all life and from all hominoids and primates was about to open upfascinating pro-life and anti-life trails. Humans became aware of a Nature turning unpredictably from extreme kindness and bountifulness to extreme destruction and cruelty. Mysterious incomprehensible forces that torment and destroy with disease and injury and unwarranted aggression and eventually with the most terrifying visitation of all “death” seemed to be operating in unpredictable, incomprehensive and irreversible ways.

In a short time after consciousness evolved, there was the birth in man of a unique consciousness, consciousness of the self. The self in this case alas was perceived at the mercy of “bigger than man powers” which remained mysterious and unpredictable. Sometimes the powers were kind but many times dangerous and deadly, destructive and tormenting.

With the recognition that there were “bigger than man” forces and that these forces were erratic and whimsical, oscillating between being bringers of life, gentle protectors of life and procreation, creators of safety, food, shelter and prosperity, on the other hand these forces could also bring torment, death, destruction and suffering for unknown reasons.

Why did the “greater than man”powers turn from bountiful blessed and gentle to cruel and destructive and utterly merciless forces? These questions must have thrown this new slowly evolved consciousness into laborious tormenting guesses, self questioning, speculations and guilt. The birth of the idea of God/Gods took place. In other words the Gods were first born out of the experience of fear, inexplicable pain and punishment and tormenting guilt associated with an early consciousness of “greater than man” forces that could turn destructive and tormenting at whim.

Once the “greater than man” power was materialised and personified, into a God or Gods, the seeds of exploitation in human life were sown. Very quickly there emerged within the group, “the class” that would claim to possess the one and only secret keys for a link with "God" (the “greater than man” forces).

Similar dynamics must have operated to create in human society a differentiated class of people that had wrested for themselves an unfair advantage. They claimed to be the only ones really connected with the “greater than man forces” and able to appease them or direct them in good and less harmful directions. They invented rituals and techniques which they kept as closely guarded secrets. So it was that through using the fear and panic principle the first dynamics of power wielding within human society was created. Power monopoly without justification within human society was to be practiced by those who could claim to represent the “greater than man” forces. It was a privilege not to be relinquish from the dawn of consciousness to modern times and the present.

It is not clear whether the first rule of power wielding politicians ( worldly leaders) started off as branches of the priesthood (exclusive connectors to God/Gods), or whether they started as practical useful protective father figures branching into justified special status for those who possess variations of skills and abilities giving real or imaginary advantages to the group. But whatever the story, it became clear that with the invention of weapons not only was the “greater than man” forces conceptualized and personified in a mystified being (God and the Gods) but the “greater than man” concept was quickly re-materialized in the form of weapons wielding man “greater than man”, as the dynamics of weapons invention and weapons usage infiltrated human societies.

Very early in social evolution, the man who could convince his fellows that he had a connection with the mysterious and mystified Gods, was greater than the man who did not have that privilege. Also the man who had a weapon or rather a bigger weapon was greater than the man who did not have a weapon or only a smaller weapon. Very quickly the privilege born out of weapons and a supposed connection with a mystified God (Gods) was translated into the right to exploit and even enslave others. Arms and God were very early in the process of human social evolution, operating against the man with no credentials but himself “man without adjectives”. The process was also translated into the right and the practice of reserving to the privileged much more than their fair share of the products of human output, labour, hunting and agriculture or of the spoils of war, than for the others who were just (man). The man without adjectives (the miracle of all biological evolution) who should and could have emerged as the generator and yardstick for all values became progressively demeaned, diminished, despised and exploited. Throughout the ages he could do very little about his exploitation because of the continuous use of the fear, hurt and panic factor. Fear and panic was to continue to be a major force for politicians, quickly allied with the priests(institutionalized religion) to control and to exercise and consolidate power and illegitimate privilege.

In summary it is not the idea of the death of God -like the philosophers of the end of 19th century argued- that will bring the liberation of man and the freedom and justice so dearly sought after. It is a radical reorientation towards the idea of God and a new development of a healthy relation with “greater than man” forces that is needed for liberation.

A necessary recognition of “greater than man” power/powers not as a mysterious whimsical vengeful, tormenting and conditionally merciful God, but of ”God” that is an all embracing fundamental fact of the universe and of life and the human consciousness of being.

The different orientation to and recognition of God within and without is very important as part of the concept and interpretation needed for the process of liberation and for the achievement of internal and external peace with self and with the world. What is needed for liberation is not denial but reorientation.

Very close to this necessary liberation is the need to develop and understand the concept of inherent and non-inherent in the human life-journey. We need to understand and accept what is inherent and to mobilise all our forces and ingenuity to annul the hegemony and control of the non-inherent on our lives and on human societies/destiny.

Someone said, I do not remember who, that Man is the only creature who fills his life with obstacles upon which he stumbles and with walls that perpetually imprison torment and diminish him and with sharpened spikes that continuously tear him apart and bleed him and his loved ones.

Liberation and peace will come not from denying or killing God, but from recreating the concept of God as love and tolerance, recognition and peace with the long denied self and integration with all its components.

It is a long history of fear panic guilt and intricate self denial, self recrimination, self disintegration, separation, fixation, sterilization, ostensibly to appease God, that has progressively created distorted mutilated human beings at war within and without, and distorted the concept of the God of love, consciousness, awareness and integrated self acceptance that is the greater yearning of life, nature and the universe.

Liberation and peace will come with the methodical release of human beings from the power of fear and of panic and of terrorization by power hungry parties with hidden agendas striving to control the dynamics of human society. Liberation will come with the releasing of human beings from the idea of primordial guilt and from the hold of the terrifying artificial God/Gods made and moulded by the priests and the religious establishment in close alliance with POWER from earliest history. The human race needs to discover the haven of peace and harmony under the gentle embrace of a gentle God of love, self acceptance and peace encompassing, with love and tolerance, all aspects of human nature leading them thus into a harmony hitherto rare and elusive, self actualization, self acceptance, peace (internal and external) and integration.

injustice carries a double curse

Injustice is twice cursed

Injustice is pursued by a multisided internally generated curse. At the receiving end the victims are cursed and suffer the direct consequences of injustice. The ‘powerful’ practitioners perpetrators of callous injustice celebrate their ‘victories’ not realizing that they are cursed even while they celebrate except that the time scale of the victor’s indirect curse kicking back is usually a much longer one yet they or their children shall surely pay.

Cursed is he who is unjust and cursed is he who succumbs to injustice or has injustice forced upon him.

An unexpected but real threat to democracy

The great base for secure democracy is justice.

The great democracies are now being threatened from a very unexpected source: The unscrupulous use of the power of fear and panic by governments and politicians without integrity to pursue mostly illegitimate interests and hidden agendas that involve injustice to other people and eventually their own..

The terror threat is magnified, amplified and milked to the maximum, if not encouraged in subtle ways. It is a known political ploy since time immemorial when the priests wrested absolute control over a populace deliberately terrified. The panic and fear engendered and amplified sometimes deliberately by the politicians and the mass media, are milked and used to the maximum creating a situation where there is a progressive erosion of democracy. Politicians can rest assured that free citizens will surrender more and more of their basic human and constitutional rights in their panic. Politicians can rest assured that there shall be a minimum of accountability. Nobody will have the time or space to hold politicians to account or to investigate anything closely and neutrally or to demand transparency, verification and debate. The state of high alert panic is an ideal arena for corrupt or incompetent politicians to indulge their failings and unfair advantages with impunity regardless of the long-term disastrous results they may bring upon their people, themselves or other peoples and nations.

درس صادم لكل متعصب أيا كانت اتجاهاته


هذه المبادئ مأخوذه من المبادئ الأخلاقية و السلوكية لحكماء من يسمونهم بالهنود الحمر ممن ينعتوهم بالمتوحشين الهمجيين الوثنيين المتخلفين يا تري هل تعلو حمرة الخجل وجوه قيادات الأديان السماوية السائدة و التي تعتبر كل ما عداها خطأ و ضلال بين عندما تقرأ هذه المباديء السامية النبيلة و العظيمة التي طورها أناس بدائيون علي الفطرة تماما؟ و هل آن أوان تصالح حقيقي بين الثقافات و الأديان و الفلسفات مبني علي أن الخالق نفخ في كل انسان من روحه و أنه لا يوجد حق لأي إنسان أو مجموعة أن تحتكر لنفسها الوعي و المعرفة بهذا القبس النوراني الموجود في كل إنسان
و المتاح لكل انسان يبحث عنه إذا بحث؟

19. Respect others religious beliefs. Do not force your belief

on

others.

الثورة التي لم تحدث

ما أكثر التعبيرات التى نستعملها أتوماتيكياً دون أن نتمعن فى معانيها وهذا من أخطر ما يصيب مجتمع حيث يجد نفسه بالتدريج غارقاً فى بحر من الأوهام و غسيل المخ و الأكاذيب متناقضاً مع نفسه ومع حقائق العالم الذى يعيش فيه دون أن يكون عنده أدنى أمل فى تشخيص الحالة أو علاجها. ولا يبقى أمامه تجاه المعضلات المتصاعدة التى تواجهه إزاء العالم المحيط به إلا أن يندفع فى حلزون الإتهام المتشنج للأخرين وللمؤامرات الخارجية وللأعداء "الخونة" فى الداخل والخارج .

نبدأ بتعريف الثورة الذى نأخذه أتوماتيكياً بطريقة عجيبة فعلاً متناقضاً تاماً مع الواقع.

الواقع يقول لنا أن ما نسميه بأوتوماتيكية كاملة "ثورتنا" الحديثة تقلص معها التمكين بشكل حاد. فبينما كان التمكين قبل "الثورة" منحصرا في أصحاب الأراضي و أصحاب الأموال و قلة من المثقفين و الطبقة الوسطي، وهذه الطبقة الوسطي الحيوية تتطور ببطء و لكن في ثقة و فعالية، و هو المجتمع الذي كان يسمي -إدانة و احتقارا- بمجتمع النصف في المائة رغم أنه علي مظالمه كان مجتمعا حيا به ديناميات تطور و تفاعل و ابداع، نجد أنه بعد "الثورة" تم سحب التمكين من أصحاب الأراضي و أصحاب رؤوس الأموال و تم تهميش الطبقة الوسطي و سحب التمكين من النقابات والجمعيات و الأحزاب و كافة مؤسسات المجتمع المدني لينتهي مجتمع "الثورة" إلي مجتمع الواحد في العشرين مليون (ناصر/ناصر/ناصر كلنا ناصر!!) و هذا التراجع إلي مجتمع الواحد في العشرين مليون، بدلا من أن يتطور مجتمع النصف في المائة إلي مجتمع العشرة في المائة ثم العشرين في المائة ثم مجتمع المشاركة للجميع.

وهكذا لو كانت هناك ثورة حقا . و لكن " الثورة" حولت مجتمع النصف في المائة إلي مجتمع النصف في المليون!!!!!

و قد يحسب "للثورة" انها حطمت أسس و عمد و قواعد مجتمع كان في الأغلب مجتمعا ظالما و لكنه كان كما هو واضح لأي دارس منصف مجتمعا متحركا ونابضا ضد الظلم و التخلف. و عند الهدم يلاحظ ان "الثورة" فشلت في التفرقة بين الجيد و المفيد من القواعد و العمد الموجودة و الضارو الفاسد منه فتم التحطيم و سحب التمكين من الكل و من كل شئ. في ظل أفكار و رؤي ساذجة و متناقضة لشباب من الضباط قد يكونوا مفعمين بالوطنية و لكن آفاقهم و تجاربهم و فهمهم للاقتصاد وللديناميات العالمية و لتاريخ و آليات المسيرة البشرية نحو العدل و الحرية لا يتعدي فهم أو وعي طلاب الثانوية العامة محدودي التفوق.

نحن نرى أن الثورة فى النهاية هى أحداث تؤدى إلى تغيير مؤثر فى نمط العلاقات الإجتماعية وعلاقات الإنتاج والعمل و في وعي الانسان بنفسه و بالآخر و بحقوقه بما يؤدى إلي توسيع متصاعد في دائرة التمكين والمشاركة فى صنع القرار. وقد تمر الثورات والتغييرات الجذرية بمراحل إنتقالية ضرورية تقوم فيها جبهة الريادة فى الثورة بسحب التمكين بصفة انتقالية مؤقتة من أجل حماية بذور التغيير من أصحاب المصلحة فى إحباط التغيير .

الثوار حقاً يحرصون على أن تكون الفترة الإنتقالية انتقالية مؤقته فعلاً وبكل دقة بحيث يجرى تسليم السلطات إلى القواعد الأوسع بطريقة مؤكدة ومتصاعدة، والذى يحدث إذا لم يتواجد الوعى والإيمان بالثورة والتصمميم، و إذا لم ينجح "الثوار" في الحفاظ علي مباديء ثورةالعدل و الحرية و التطور، فوق شهوة و اغراء السلطة، يحدث أن الفترات الإنتقالية تستمر إلى الأبد "وأن القوى العدوانية المتربصة بالثورة في الداخل و الخارج " تدعم بإستمرار فى وعى الحكام والناس بالحق أو بالباطل(يلاحظ ان هذه النظم لا بد لها من عدو خارجي و عدو داخلي تخترعه إختراعا إذا اقتضي الأمر)، بحيث تتحول الفترة الإنتقالية (حالة الطوارئ) إلى إزمان ليس خلفيته بحق الخطر الداخلي و الخارجي و لكن فيروس السلطة و شهوة السلطة. وبتدريج غير محسوس، يفيق الشعب المصاب، إذا أفاق، ليجد الثوار وقد تحولوا إلى الطغاه الجدد يتمسكون بمقاليد السلطة المطلقة و بكل ضراوة "السلطة من أجل السلطة" و ليس من أجل التطور أو التغيير . وتحدث الطامة الكبرى حين ينجح الطغاه الجدد "ثوار الأمس " فى نسج قوانين وتشريعات الفترات الإنتقالية الإستثنائية فى النسيج التشريعى للمجتمع وفى دستوره و هي الطعنة النجلاء الكفيلة بقتل الحراك و التطور و النماء الاجتماعي لأجيال..

ونظرة من بعيد إلى هذه المجتمعات تظهر بوضوح تقلص دائرة التمكين حتى لينتهى الوضع مع "ثورة الحرية" وقد أفقدت كل فئات الشعب ومؤسساته وهيئاته بل وسلطاته المقدسة عناصر التمكين وأصبحت كلها مجرد توابع لأوتوقراطية أوليجاركية تستحوذ على كل السلطات وتسيطر عليها بإسم الملايين المقهورة. وقد أصبحت الأوتوقراطية الاوليجاركية صاحبة مصلحة أصيلة فى أن تظل الملايين المقهورة مقهورة و مجهلة إلى الأبد!!

وتدافع الأوليجاركية الجديدة عن سلطاتها المطلقة و عن بقائها الأبدي بقسوة وشراسة تفوق أقسى ممارسات رأس المال المستغل والفاسد وممارسات أشد الإقطاعيين شراسة، والتاريخ أمامنا يحكى الحكاية المأساوية المرة تلو الأخرى .

و مع إزمان الفترة الانتقالية و الحرية المؤجلة ينضب المجتمع و تجف حيويته وتتحول الشعارات الثورية العظيمة مثل تكافؤ الفرص ومثل مشاركة الجماهير والعمال والفلاحين ومثل التعليم المجانى ومثل التحرر من الفقر والتبعية والسيطرة الخارجية والإستعمار إلى مجرد نكات أليمة من المضحكات المبكيات حيث تقود هذه النظم مجتمعاتها إلى تبعية وإعتمادية أسوأ من أقسى أيام الإستعمار ويتحول التعليم "المجانى" إلى أعلى أنواع التعليم تكلفة مع رداءة منحدرة فى القيمة والكفاءة والقدرة على تقديم مؤهلين مطلوبين قادرين وعارفين بلغة العالم المعاصر. وبالتالى فيتحول هذا التعليم المكلف إلى وسيلة لشغل العائلات والأجيال وإفراز حاملى شهادات بالآلاف يلقون بلا دفاع أو مهارات مطلوبة أو فرص إلى سوق العمل أو بالأصح إلى سوق البطالة.

وأود في مقال قريب أن أقدم تحليل موازى -في دراسة عن غسيل المخ علي مستوي قومي- لمعنى العروبة والقومية العربية التى أخذناها من أعلي ورددناها أيضاً بأوتوماتيكية كاملة دون التمعن فى معناها ولا فى الأسس ولا الآليات التى تمكننا من تحقيقها.

أرى أن الكوارث التى قادنا إليها غياب التحليل المتمعن لمعانى الشعارات وآليات تطبيقها أصبحت تنادينا بإعادة النظر جذرياً فى تاريخنا المعاصر وأصبحت تنادينا بتحليل هادئ علمى لشعارات و مقولات تكاد تخنقنا خنقاً ومن أهم ما نحتاجه فى هذه اللحظة هو دستور جديد ومناخ تشريعى ثورى حقاً يضع القيم الإنسانية وقيم الحرية والعدل فوق كل الإعتبارات الأخرى، ويربط بين هذه القيم وآليات تطبيقها والدفاع عنها فى الدولة الحديثة، آخذين فى الإعتبار ما وصلت إليه البشرية فى مشوارها الطويل نحو التطور الفكرى والإجتماعى والدينى والسياسى. ونكرر أنه لا معنى للعدل بدون آليات تحميه ولا معنى لمفهوم المواطنة دون آليات تحمى حقوق المواطن الأساسية وتؤكد الأرضية لنمو و ممارسة مفاهيم مثل الحيادية والفصل بين السلطات وتداول السلطة بناء على إرادة قاعدية مستقلة لا سبيل إلى تزويرها أو التلاعب بارادتها الحرة أو بحقها في المعلومات و المعرفة.

هنا فقط إذا حققنا ما تقدم نستطيع أن نقول أن مصر مرت بحركة نهضة وثورة حقيقة وعادت بطريقة طبيعية إلى تقديم مثال جديد ومتفوق يحتذى به إلى الأمم العربية والإسلامية وأمم الشرق الأوسط . و بدون هذه البديهيات فكل الادعاءات بحدوث ثورة"مجيدة" هو من قبل تدعيم الأوهام التي تؤخر التطور! و لا بد من التفرقة المفاهيمية الواضحة بين هجوم تحطيمي لتحطيم و تمزيق عمد و أواصر و أسس مجتمع (ظالم) وهذا ليس بثورة و لكن أقرب إلي معركة حربية أو حملة تأديبية يتم فيها تحطيم و تطويع و اخضاع كافة عناصر و قوي المجتمع وهو حدث مجتمعي ضخم، و لكنه أبعد ما يكون عن الثورة و ما يواكبها بالضرورة من تحرك نشط نحو النهضة التي تتطلب عملية زرع و رعاية و تنمية مجتمع جديد متحرر آمن و منتج أقرب إلي العدالة مطمئن إلي قدسية القانون و آليات حماية الحقوق، تتسع فيه طبعا دوائر التمكين لتشمل الجميع و هذه هي الثورة –التي لم تحدث!

و بكل بساطة نجد ثورة 23يوليو 1952 في مصر هي بكل مأساوية "ثورة مخطوفة" لم يتح لها ديناميات التطور إلا أقل من سنتين فقط (تم خطفها في مارس 1954)!

والآن بعد تراكم النكسات -التي لا تلغي آثارها المدمرة بعض الانتصارات المبكرة- أصبح علي الشعب و ممثليه الطبيعيين تسلم مقاليد القيادة و تصعيد أهل الحكمة و العدالة وقد تكاثرت الكوارث و النكسات و تعاظم الفساد. وأقترح أن يتقدم تجمع من كافة القوي الشعب بقرار حكيم يشمل العفو الكامل و العام عن كل رموز و عناصر "الثورة" المخطوفة و التأمين الكامل لهم ضد المحاكمة أو الادانة فيكفي الشعب و التاريخ ما نحن فيه من إدانة عالمية عملية ألا وهي الفشل الذريع في دخول مصر عصر النهضة و المشاركة والريادة والعدل الاجتماعي، والحكمة تقتضي أن نحرر أقطاب النظام الفاشل و الفاسد من خوف بل رعب المساءلة الحيادية، و هو الرعب الذي يجعلهم يتمسكون رغم تصاعد الفشل بالسلطة بجنون و هستيرية حتي و لو أدي ذلك التمسك المتشنج إلي غرق سفينة الوطن بأسرها! إن دخول الوطن عصر التهضة بقوة، أهم بكثير من تعقب فئات الجناة الذين انغمسوا في غسيل المخ وجمدوا حراك الوطن و تطوره وتعاموا عامديم متعمدين عن كل القيم من أجل السلطة و التميز.

قوة دفع النهضة حين يتاح لها التحرك بلا عوائق كفيلة وحدها بتصحيح السلوكيات المنحرفة و بخلق المناخ الذي يفرض الشفافية و المسئولية و المساءلة المفقودة و كلها عناصر أساسية للنهضة إن نجحت عناصر الحكمة في المجتمع في توليدها. و لا تشمل عناصر النهضة التنكيل أو الانتقام أو إدانة من سبق و ما سبق بل الاستفادة فقط من دروس السلبيات و الترديات لكي نحمي آليات عدم التكرار

ببساطة الثورة هي توسيع دوائر التمكين و تغير كيفي عميق في وعي الناس وفي ممارسة العلاقات الانسانية الحساسة(حاكم/محكوم،معلم/متعلم، ضعيف/قوي، غني/فقير ، جيل سابق/ جيل جديد، متدين/غير متدين، رجل/إمرأة....إلخ) لتتحول جميعا إلي علاقات تفاعلية تحترم كاملا حقوق كل أطرافها في الكينونة و التطور الحر بدلا من علاقات القسرو القهر و الاذعان التي تسود في الجيوش و في المجتمعات القهرية. و علي الشعوب التي ذاقت مرارة سحب التمكين ألا تفرط من جديد في حقوقها أبدا مهما كانت الشعارات و المبررات – الخادعة دائما

حيرتي الكبيرة مع الأستاذ محمد حسنين هيكل

عن الأستاذ/ محمد حسنين هيكل

أجدها مناسبة لتقديم الشكر والتقدير للأستاذ هيكل على تقديمه لكتبه ووثائقه ومستنداته إلى نقابة الصحفيين كنواة لمؤسسة تجعل من كل هذه الوثائق والمستندات والمراجع مكتبة فريدة في متناول الدارسين في مصر ومن كل مكان.

وأقدر في الأستاذ هيكل ذكائه الحاد ولكن أقدر أكثر نظرته الكونية الشاملة للتاريخ، وهي نظرة مطلوبة وإن كانت للأسف شديدة الندرة، كما أنه بحكم مراكزه وقربه من مركز الأحداث ومراكز صنع القرار في فترة من أخطر الفترات التي مرت بها مصر يحوز ويصل إلى وثائق ومراجع حجبت عن الشعب المصري وعن الدراس المصري العربي فترة سيطرة الشمولية على العالم العربي بعقليتها المانعة لتداول المعرفة ولانتقال المعلومات و للوعي بأهمية الأمانة العلمية و التاريخية.

ويشوب هذا الإعجاب والتقدير للأستاذ هيكل، افتقادي فيما يقدمه من كتابات رائعة، لإختراق العالم الذي يضع البحث عن الحقيقة فوق كل شيء. وأجد بصفة متكررة أن علمه وعطائه الغزير يسقط بصفة مزمنة في فخ التبرير لعبد الناصر وعهده، وما صاحب هذا العهد من أخطاء وخطايا وانكسارات لا تلقى في مصر التشخيص العميق المنتظر والمطلوب رغم أن ما تورط فيه هذا العهد من أخطاء أدي إلي كوارث كانت قمتها المنطقية انهيار 1967 العسكري والسياسي والفكري والقيمي، ولا عجب فقد كان الأستاذ هيكل شريكاً أساسياً في هذا العهد ومبرراً ومفلسفاً له بنجاحاته الكبيرة وبثقافاته الكبيرة أيضاً وهو شريك في الإنجازات مثلما هو شريك في الترديات و النكسات.

وهذه المنظور التبريري المزمن والذي أجده بصفة مستمرة كخلفية دائمة في كتابات الأستاذ هيكل و أحاديثه الطلية الشيقة، يمثل نقاط لا رؤيا مزمنة (Blind Spots) تسحب منه صفة العالم المخترق وصفة عالم التاريخ التي هو أهل لها إن اراد وهي صفات يستحقها بذكائه الفريد وبحوزته لمستندات التاريخ المخفية أو السرية في مصر أو في دول الهيمنة، وتتركه هذه الحالة التبريرية بكل أسف في خانة الكاتب السياسي والصحفي بالغ التشويق والإثارة بديع الأسلوب منشغلا دائما بالتبرير و الدفاع عن عبد الناصرالذي لا يخطئ.

وسأكون أسعد الناس إذا استيقظت يوماً لأجد محمد حسنين هيكل اخترق حاجز التبرير إلى رحابة النقد العلمي العميق والجاد لمرحلة شارك في تكوينها وأحداثها، وهو مطلب لا شك شديد الصعوبة ويكاد يكون مضاد للطبيعة الإنسانية، ولكن أملي يستمر في أن الأستاذ هيكل بإنجازاته الكبرى قد يخترق هذا الحاجزونجده عالماً أكبر من الانحياز قادراً على انتقاد موضوعي وتحليل نقدي لجمال عبد الناصر وللفترة الناصرية.

ونفس هذا الحاجز المخل نجده يفرض الشلل على الفكر في مجالات اليسار المصري التقدمي والأحزاب الشيوعية المصرية وعلى القيادات الفكرية والسياسية للتيارات التقدمية ويشمل السقوط في فخ العبادة والعشق "للزعيم المحرر المنتظر باعث النهضة" وهو عشق بدأ الروس يشفون أنفسهم منه فيما يختص بستالين البطل نصف الإله، وهو أيضاً عشق شفي منه الألمان إلى حد كبير فيما يختص بهتلر البطل المعبود. وحتى الفرنسيون بدأوا في رحلة الشفاء فيما يختص بعشق نابليون البطل المبعود، وحتى الانجليز مؤخراً بدءوا وبكثير من الصعوبة رحلة الشفاء من عشق وعبادة تشرشل البطل المعبود.

والحقيقية الحيوية أن وعي الشعوب لا ينضج ولا يتحرك حتى يستوعب التاريخ بحيادية تحليلية ناقدة، وهو ما لا يتم إلا إذا نجح المجتمع بقيادة مفكريه و مؤرخيه في أن يتخطى حالة التجمد في عبادة وعشق البطل المعبود. وهو ما لم نفعله حتى الآن في مصر والدول العربية، وكان يجدر أن يساعدنا عليه أمثال الأستاذ هيكل والأحزاب التقدمية المؤمنة بالشعوب وحق الشعوب في الحركة والتقدم والمفترض أنهم حاملي لواء النهضة الحديثة ، وحق الشعوب في الحرية والتقدم والانطلاق.

وفي رأيي أن فشل التقدميين وفشل الليبراليين وحاملي لواء الحداثة والتطور في مصر في التحليل النقدي لتاريخنا لمعاصر ، وفي تحليل الفترة الناصرية والحكم العسكري بعمق كاف وبموضوعية علمية مخترقة، أدى إلى حالة من الجفاف والإفلاس والفقر الفكري، حتى لقد انتقل حلم الشعوب في التغيير من أيادي وعقول هؤلاء التقدميين المحبوسين في العشق والعبادة لعصر ترزح الشعوب تحت آثار مصائبه وكوارثه وأخطائه وهزائمه وفساده، إلى أصحاب الفكر الجامد المضاد في مجموعات السلفيين وفي اليمين صاحب الفكر الجامد المضاد للتغيير "ومحدش أحسن من حد" : ولسان الحال يقول إذا كان التقدميين ورواد التغيير تجمدوا في عبادة وعشق الحاكم المطلق الفرد البشري الخطاء فلماذا لا نندفع إلى السلفية ونمارس عشق المرسل المنزه العادل المحمي من الخطأ. لماذا نعشق ونعبد وننحني للبشر الخطائين ولنا من باب أولى أن نعشق ونعبد وننحنى للمقدس المنزل المنزه؟

دا أنا غلباااااااااااااااان مع الشكر والإعتذار لعادل إمام.

العلاقة الثنائية بين الحاكم والمحكوم بدون وجود قوة ثالثة فعالة حكم على التعليم باللافعالية وبالفشل كعملية تنمية ونماء وحكم علي كل آليات المجتمع الصحي من عدل وإعلام وبحث علمي وإنتاج وحرية ونقد وتعبير، بالتعثر والقصور... وليس غريباً في ظل هذه العلاقة الثنائية أن يرى المسئولون في زيادة النسل وارتفاع التعداد السكاني، مجرد تهديد متصاعد وغير مقبول وشماعة أخرى تعلق عليها ظواهر الفشل والإحباط المتصاعد والذي له في الواقع أسباب أخرى بالمرة .. فلا يعقل أن نهتف عمرنا كله بالوحدة الخالدة للعرب ولوادي النيل والثروة البشرية الهائلة محبوسة في شريط ضيق بمصر في وادي النيل الشمالي بينما ملايين الأفدنة من أخصب أراضي العالم لا تزرع ولا تنتج ولا وصال علمي مع ثرواتها الطبيعية الهائلة ولا نستطيع تخطي العراقيل في طريق تحويل هذه الامكانات إلي واقع مؤثر وكيف ولم نطور قنوات وصال علمي مع الثروات البشرية أصلا ونحن مكرسون لخدمة الأبطال لا لتنمية البشر.

وليس في خاطر التراكيب الاجتماعية السياسية الثنائية هذه إمكانية أن ينشأ المواطن حراً قوياً جريئاً مبدعاً مؤثراً مشاركاً ... مستقلاً ... فاتحا لمجالات جديدة ومبدعة لإعالة نفسه وعياله ولرقي وتقدم مجتمعه.

ويمكن تلخيص العقد الجديد في العلاقة المعاصرة بين الحاكم والمحكوم في الدول المصابة التي تنطبق عليها الأنماط المذكورة أعلاه من خلال الحوار التالي :

-- سأكون مسئولاً عن أكلك وشربك ما رأيك ؟؟

- ربنا يخليك يا بيه ... ياي ده يبقى فضل كبير قوي ...

- وانا كمان هعالجك

- فضل كبير يا بيه .. أكبر وأكبر

- وأنا كمان هوظفك وهاعملك ماهية ثابتة علشان أنا بحبك وعايزك تبقى أفندي كده محترم وقاعد في مكتب ومحترم ... أنا عايزك تشرفني لما يجوني الخواجات الأجانب يزوروني ... دانت كنت بتفضحنا لما تظهر قدام الناس المحترمة اللي من بلاد بره وانت مزيت ولا مغبر ولا مطين وأعوذ بالله سعات كمان حافي وعرقان ومع البهايم والحيوانات المنحطة

- وسعات كمان حافي وعريان ومطين وانت بتزرع قال رز ولا قمح ولا برسيم ولا بتقوى جسور النيل من الفيضان إنت لسة معرفتش إن الكانتالوب و الفراولة أحسن يا متخلف؟ .. كنت فاضحنا ومحقرنا في عيون الخواجات الناس الحلوة الذوق النضيفة المتقدمة اللي بتدينا فلوس وسلاح .. كان خلاص .. بسببك .. عرفونا اننا متأخرين وهمجيين ومش متمدينين زيهم .. يا فضيحتك ده حتي بلغني إنك كنت بتولع الفرن بالجلة وفضلات البهايم ووفضلات المحاصيل.. ولزومه إيه القرف والطين والهمجية دي .. إنت ما سمعتش عن البوتاجاز والكهرباء والأتوماتيكي... إيه يعني لزوم الرز والقمح والفضلات والزبالة والطمي والطين والقرف .. كل ده اشتريهولك من حر مالي .. مال الدولة العظمى اللي هاعملهالك.. والفضلات والزبالة ابقى ارميها في أكياس بلاستيك زى الخواجات المحترمين .. أوعي تاني تدخل بيتك زبالة ولا بط ووز وفراخ وحيوانات وبلاوي تجيب المرض

- لا والله يا سعادة الباشا محصلش.. وعمره ما هيحصل ما دام سعادتك موجود ..

- والفيضان كمان هوأقفهولك .. ولا طين ولا طمي ولا وساخة وقرف من بتوع الفلح بتاع زمان .. تأخر ايه ده، إن الإنسان يبقى تحت رحمة الطبيعة والطمي والطين .. والزراعة دي علامة الدول المتأخرة ... المتخلفة .. فاهم ... الاستعمار كان بيدرس في المدارس إن مصر دولة زراعية معتمدة على النيل وفيضانه .. ده كذب وتأخر .. فاهم ؟؟ النيل سبب التأخر هسدوهولك! الصناعة الثقيلة هى سر قوة الأمم ـ هاعملك مصانع من غير عدد هاملالك العاصمة مصانع واشغلك في المصانع ! أنا عايز البلد كلها تبقى مصانع والفلاحين يبطلوا وساخة وقرف وطمي وطين ويبقوا عمال زي الورد يهتفوا باسمي وإسم الدولة العظمي اللي هاعملهالك فاهم ؟

واستمرت الحكاية..

و كان أن أدي الفلاح الحصيف إلي تسليم قيادة البلاد والعباد إلي "الحاجب" في غياب "العين" المنشغلة والمنهمكة في إستعذاب تصغير النفس وإنكار الذات والذوبان خوفا وحبا وطمعا في "الحاجب" المؤله! وكان ما كان مما يثير العجب في كل زمان.. هية العين تعلي علي الحاجب؟

و لا زلنا في طريق الآلام حتي يقتنعنا الإعلام المخلص الهمام وتقنعنا صروف الزمان أن العين فوق الحاجب وأن الحاجب خادم العين وأن البصر والبصيرة وصالح الأمة فوق "الحاجب". وأن الفلاح الزارع المنتج المتوازن مع الطبيعة والحياة هو المفتاح و أن أصغر مواطن فوق الحكومة وسيدها ورائدها!!


حوارات الفلاح الفصيح ـ الجزء الثاني

وكان أن جاءت سنة 80 ،

وكان الناس المخلصين يمارسوا مع الحكومة والزعيم شروط الاستسلام الكامل والتسليم

حسب الاتفاق القديم من أيام أربعة و خمسين

وسعدت الحكومة أيما سعادة، والزعيم.

وتحول الجميع إلى أفنديات وموظفين، يمشوا جنب الحيط كؤدبين و كويسين، وانخفض الإنتاج إلى أسفل سافلين، ولما تكاثرت على الدولة الديون، حتى بغلت الحلقوم، كان أن انهالت الهزائم الخارجية والمصائب حتى ضاعت القدس والجولان وما تبقى من فلسطين.

وفجأة تملص الأسياد وأصحاب السلطة والسلطان من العهد والوعود.

- خلاص أنا هاخلع إيدي من كل حاجة.

- لا لا يا سعادة الباشا .. حرام

بعد ما علمتني أننا أسلم وأستسلم وأمشي جنب الحيط .. تسيبني كده .. حرام يا سعادة البيه .. مش كان العهد إني أسلم واستسلم ، وإنك هاتأكلني وتشربني وتعلمني وتوظفني وتجوزني .. وتعملي الدولة العظمى ، وتحرر القدس ؟

- لا لا لا .. كل ده خلاص .. لاهاوظفك .. ولا اشربك .. ولا أكلك .. ولا أعلمك .. كل ده خلاص .. إتصرف .. أصلك ما بتنتجش ، وما ما بتبدعش .. خرجت من التعليم جاهل .. اديتك بكالوريوس وماجستير بالآلاف وبرضه جاهل .. ودكتوراه وبرضه جاهل .. ما بتنتجش حاجة غير عيال .. أعمللك إيه ؟ خلاص خلاص العهد انتهى .. مفيش حل خلاص .. مش عارف أوكلك انت وعيالك .. ومفيش حل غير إني أبيع البلد للأجانب الحلويين الأغنياء علشان أسدد الديون .. وكل ده علشان أوكلك انت وعيالك يا متخلف.

- ما أنا كنت باوكل نفسي وبوكل عيالي قبل ما أسلم لك كل حاجة، وأمشي جنب الحيط .. علشان خطرك ومن حبي فيك سلمت لك كل حاجة .. وادي أخرتها ؟

- الله الله .. انت هاتبجح والا إيه؟ .. انت عايز تروح ورا الشمس والا إيه ؟ احنا يا عببيط في عصر الاقتصاد الحر وديناميات السوق.

- ديناميات إيه .. أنا أعرف سوق الخضار وسوق السمك .. قصدك كده يا سعادة البيه ؟

- اسكت .. انت هاتقاوح معايا يا جاهل ؟

- بعد خمسين سنة من الاستسلام تسيبني كده جعان؟ بعد ما عيشتني التسليم والتعليم الفاسد في كل مكان .. والتخويف والإرهاب كمان .. بعد كده تسيبني .. مش حرام ؟ والله حرام وأنا طول عمري باحب الحكام أقدم لهم كل الاستسلام.

- إنت في الأكل منشار .. ولا بتنتجش غير عيال .. وعايز تاكل تاكل تاكل .. وعوايدك في الأكل مهببة وضياع وفساد واهدار .. علشان أأكلك لازم أبيع البلد للأجانب الحلويين الأغنياء المنظمين ودول مش عايزينك وانت غير مطلوب. الجاهلين اللي زيك مش مطلوبين في العالم الجديد؟

- ماجستير ودكتوراه وتقول جاهل ومش مطلوب كمان .. ده لغز والا إيه يا بيه ؟

- ما هو جاتك مصيبة لو ما تتعلمش وتتحرر علشان تتحرك مش هتلاقي مكان في العالم الجديد .. وتظل غريب في بلادك ومش هاعرف أعمل لك حاجة .. بس ممكن تتحرك "كده وكده" .. تمثيل يعني أمام الخواجات .. ولو أخذت الحكاية جد وتحررت حقيقي ولا تعلمت حقيقي أو كانت لك إرادة بحق و حقيق .. أسحقك وأوديك ورا الشمس .. انت فاكرني هفية والا إيه ؟ إنت مش عارف الحكومة ؟

الحياة في الثقب الأسود

المجتمع المقلوب عندما ينفلب كل شئ إلي عكسه

عتدما تتلاحق و تتابع إنهيارات المنظومات الطبيعية و تتراكم، تأتي لحظة حرجة ويتحول كل شئ إلي عكسه حتي المادة تتحول إلي عكسها، ينقلب الوجود و الواقع إلي ثقب أسود رهيب يتكون و يكبر يجذب كل شيء يدفعه سوء الحظ إلي مجاله جذبا رهيبا سرمديا بلا فكاك أو خروج و في الداخل كل شيء معكوس كل شيء صورة من نفسه دون ان يكون نفسه. و كل ما يحدث في هذا العالم المقلوب معزول عن التواصل و التأثير في العالم الحقيقي بينما "المحابيس" يعتقدون بكل إخلاص أن درامياتهم المحبوسة و أقصاها "زوابع في فنجان" تؤثر في العالم "الحر" و تحركه.المحبيس في الثقب الأسود يقنعهم "أمرائهم" و قياداتهم أنهم في طريق النهضة و يحتفلون بالنجاحات الهائلة و بالخطة الخمسية الثالثةو الرابعة و الألف و هم "محلك سر في الثقب الأسود .. هل هكذا ثورات التحرير التي تحولت إلي ديكتاتوريات عسكرية سافرة أو مستترة في عالمنا المقلوب؟ و هل هكذا حركات النهضة الاسلامية السلفية في عالمنا المقلوب التي تكافح لغصب المجتمع علي العودة ألف وربعمائة عام إلي الوراء إلي تاريخ لا يعرفون عنه أدني الحقائق إلا أحلام غير حقيقية بعيدة تماما عن الواقع ؟؟

علي هامش سقوط بغداد و سقوط أشياء كثيرة في تاريخنا المعاصر

تتداعى إلى الذاكرة في هذه الأيام السوداء من أبريل 2003 أيام سوداء مثلها أو أمر في يونيو 1967 وينبثق في الوعي بالنسبة لجيل مثل جيلي عاش الإنكسار تلو الإنكسار وأغُرق في الأكاذيب بلا حدود وبلا خجل، أن الديكتاتورية وحكم الفرد بكل تنويعاته هو في الواقع تعجيز وشل لقدرات الشعوب والجيوش معاً حتى وإن كانت هذه الديكتاتوريات ديكتاتوريات عسكرية تحظى الجيوش فيها بنصيب الأسد من الدخل القومي وبكل أنواع التميز التي تجعل المواطن العادي مواطن من الدرجة الثانية بالنسبة لأفرادها المحظوظين ، وقد يتبادر إلى الذهن أن هذه الجيوش بالتالي هي جيوش جبارة تبز وتتفوق على كل ما عداها من جيوش ، ولكن الأداء والتاريخ أثبت بما لا يدع مجال للشك أن الجيوش التي تتحور وظيفتها لتصبح آداه من أدوات الحكم وآداه من أدوات السلطة تفقد بطرقة تكاد تكون غير محسوسة قدراتها القتالية.

وقد غذونا حتى الثمالة بالجيش العراقي الجرار وبقدراته الفذة وبالمستويات الخطيرة من فرقه ارتفاعاً من الجيش العادي إلى ما سمي الحرس الجمهوري ثم الحرس الجمهوري الخاص والفرق الفدائية الخاصة حتى وكأنه انطلت هذه التغذية الكاذبة على الغرب المتحفز للعدوان على العالم العربي والإسلامي وعلى العراق أو لعله ساير هذه الدعايات الكاذبة من أجل أن يضخم في انتصاراته وأن يبرر لنفسه ولأجهزته الجهنمية العدوان الوحشي بآلات الدمار الشامل على الضحية المختارة من عالم العرب والمسلمين المبتلى بتنويعات من الحكومات الأتوقراطية وتنويعات حكم الفرد

وتناسينا مرة أخرى تفاؤلاً وحباً في العراق الشقيق أن الجيوش في هذه النظم والتراكيب المأساوية بأسها على الداخل وأن أجهزة الأمن والمخابرات والبحث فيها موجهه إلى الداخل وأنها إن كانت تعرف كل شئ عن المواطن الغلبان فهي لا تعرف أي شئ مفيد عن العدو الأمريكي أو الإسرائيلي.

وقد بلغ ما تعرض له جيلي وأجيال بعدي من غسيل مخ أننا تابعنا الأحداث السوداء في مارس وأبريل2003 غير مصدقين لما يحدث وكلنا متناسين ما تفعله الديكتاتورية بالشعوب والجيوش ولم نكن نصدق ما يجري وكنا نقول في حكمة العارف ببواطن الأمور أن كل ما يحدث هو خدعة من الجيش العراقي الجبار الذي طالما أخبرونا عنه ، وأنه يستدرج القوات الأمريكية والبريطانية الغازية إلى بغداد ليفاجئها بقواته الجبارة ويقضي عليها ويمزقها شر تمزيق بالأجهزة والأسلحة والأدوات المناسبة التي حضر نفسه لها عبر ما يزيد عن ثلاثة عشر عاماً من الحصار والعدوان والتربص المعلن و المستتر.

أين كانت الأجهزة والاستخبارات والمخططين والعسكرين من هذا التخطيط العدواني الرهيب الذي كان من الواضح لأي ساذج أن أمريكا تجهزه للعراق.

وتتداعى إلى الذاكرة وأنا أستمع إلى وزير الإعلام محمد سعيد الصحاف الذي كسبنا بقدر من خفة الدم و الأكاذيب التي يبلغ من عظمتها ان تكون مسلية جدا مضحكة مبكية في آن واحد. ورغم البعد الزمني و الألم العميق لهذه االأحداث المأساوية الظالمة. ألاحظ أن الذي يتداعى إلي الوعي الحزين هو التطابق شبه التام مع البلاغات العسكرية المتتالية لهذه الأيام المشئومة في يونيو 1967 ربما يقرأها شخص بتكنيك يختلف عن الصحاف خفيف الدم في كذبه بطريقة أحمد سعيد المتعاليه و الواثقة المشهورة وفيها هذه التتابعات المدهشة " أسقطنا كذا و كذا طائرة من طائرات العدو.... معارك شرسة تدور في المكان كذا ثم بدون أي معلومات أخرى مقاومة ضارية تبديها قواتنا الباسلة في مكان آخر لم يكن لدينا أي أخبار أنه تحت الهجوم..... وهكذا بينما يصعد الاحباط و اليأس الأسود في النفوس المعذبة بالكذب قواتنا الباسلة تخوض معارك ضارية في رفح ثم في العريش ثم في بور توفيق

لا يوجد شيء يمكن ان يعوضنا نحن شباب مصر المخلصين آنذاك من عذاب الأكاذيب الصارخة و لا من آثار إختزال الوطن في شخص الزعيم البطلالذي يصنع الحقيقه كيفما شاء لنصدم المرة تلو المة بالهوة السحيقة بين الحقائق و الادعاء.

تضخيم هائل لخسائر العدو مع إنكار كامل لتأثير ضربات العدو على القوات المدافعة وتستمر هذه الحلقة المعتادة من البلاغات الوهمية بينما ينبثق الكابوس بالتدريج على النفس من أن هناك شئ بشع يحدث وأن هزيمة مروعة في طور التكوين، دون أن يتاح لنا كمواطنين تعتبرهم السلطة المركزية عيال دون المسئولية أن نعرف ماذا يحدث بالضبط ولو لنجهز أنفسنا في صورة مجموعة لحفظ الأمن والنظام ولضمان سلامة المرافق عند حدوث الانهيار المحتوم القادم.

تختنق الكلمات في نقد أداء وأساليب هذه الحكومات الأتوقراطية التي أوردت الحلم العربي والإسلامي موارد الكارثة والهلاك عندما نرى على الوجه الآخر كم الأكاذيب والادعاءات الوهمية التي تردى فيها الإعلام الغربي وبصفة خاصة الإعلام الأمريكي والبريطاني ، وكأن السلطات في كل مكان قد تعلمت مننا أن تعتبر المواطن مجرد تابع يفعل باسمه كل شئ وأي شئ حتى ولو كان مضاداً تماماً لرغباته العارمة كما شاهدنا بلير وبيرلسكوني واثنار في تحد كامل لما بدا أنه الإرادة الشعبية كما عبر عنها الأسبان والطليان والإنجليز في شوارع عواصمهم الرئيسية.

نعيش في الأكاذيب والأوهام والتكهنات ولا نفيق منها إلا بواقع مر ثم واقع أكثر مرارة يفرض نفسه علينا.

التكهنات كثيرة في كيف سقطت بغداد هذا السقوط المروع وكعادتنا نبحث عن حل مستسهل يساعدنا على الهروب من مواجهة الواقع المرير ولكنني أكرر أن الهزيمة ما هي إلا انعكاس لهزيمة مسبقة للشعب وللجيش ولكافة الأجهزة بواسطة الديكتاتورية وحكم الفرد الذي يختزل الوطن و الشعب باسم أهداف "نبيلة" و يعمل علي تصغير و تجهيل المواطن.

والدرس المستفاد في 2003 كما كان الدرس في 1967 هو أن الديكتاتورية وحكم الفرد يهزمان الشعب ومؤسساته والجيش ومؤسساته قبل أن يهزمهم العدو الخارجي.

فهل نتعلم من 2003 وهل تعلمنا واعتبرنا من 1967 وهل يتسع خيالنا لنرى التوازن والتطابق شبه الكامل بين الحدثين المروعين الذين سحبا ويسحبان من جيلي وأجيال بعدهم الأحلام والتمنيات ؟

بلغنا من بعض الجهات أن الجيش في العراق كما كان في مصر 1967 كان مشلولاً ومفتقد الأوامر ووجد أنه غير قادر على التصرف التلقائي وهذا هو النتاج الطبيعي لتحول الجيش إلى مصدر للسلطات حيث يخشى الحاكم بالطبيعة من إطلاق سراح الوحدات العسكرية في حرية الحركة وفي الدخول إلى العاصمة خوفاً من أن تمارس صلاحيتها الجديدة المعتادة وتقفز على مقعد السلطة.

أي إذا جعل النظام القوات المسلحة و الأجهزة هي المصدر الحقيقي للسلطات فلا بد من آليات جهنمية لتكبيل و تكميم و للتحكم في الشعب و للسيطرة و الحفاظ علي الشعب مجهلا مستأنسا إلي الأبد من أجل الحفاظ علي سلطة هذه الأجهزة الجبارة و الخطرة مالكى القوة الوحيدة في البنيان الإجتماعي. و التاريخ الطبيعي لهذه النظم يشمل مع الوقت تحالف السلطة مع المال –مهما تشدقت هذه النظم بالاشتراكية و العدالة الاجتماعية-كما يشمل عدوان حقيقي ظاهر و مستتر علي التعليم النمائي و الثقافة و تدعيم مباشر و غير مباشر للتعصب الفكري و الديني الذي هو الوجه الآخر لأحادية الرؤيا و ضحالة التعليم و الثقافة التي تمارسها السلطة و أجهزتها و تفرضها بكل ما تملك من قوة.

و الخلاصة انه لا بديل عن تحرير الارادة الشعبية و تمكين الشعب عن طريق إعادة ميلاد مجتمع مدني ينبع من القاعدة و دستور ينبع من قواعد وقيادات غير سلطوية و لكن فكرية و قانونية، و لا بديل عن دستور يخضع جميع الأجهزة لآليات الشفافية و المساءلة و التوازن الضروري بين السلطات.و التغاضي المزمن و التحايل المزمن علي هذه البديهيات في الوطن العربي يهيئنا للمزيد من الترديات و الهزائم و الفرص الضائعة. و كل ما يحدث متجاهلا لما أسلفنا من بديهيات هو كالزبد سينتهي حتما بعد أن يلعب بكل أسف دوره المطلوب في تعطيل التطور و اثارة الضباب علي مسالكه. و يراعي انه ليست كل الهزائم عسكرية في حروب بين الجيوش و لكن هناك هزائم في التعليم و هزائم في البحث العلمي و هزائم في الاقتصاد و هزائم في الثقافة هزائم في القانون و التشريع و هزائم في الاعلام المزور للوعي و نري هذه الهزائم أخطر و أعمق أثرا من الهزائم العسكرية حتي لو أمعنا في الانكار و التمثيل كعادتنا.

Soft and very solemn sound of reverent worship Dead light show on all walls

ANNOUNCER : (carrying two obscene pieces of wood which are capable of making a very sharp and unpleasing sound when banged together)

(very dramatically) Act the first (he clicks his pieces of wood)

(PHOTOGRAPHERS jump in from all over the Place and take flash photographs)

THE SCENE IS REVEALED


ANNOUNCER withdraws to one side where he can observe the happenings without being too conspicuous or intruding unduly into consciousness.

When the scene is revealed and after a short latent -period for consciousness to take it in, ANNOUNCER starts "beating time with his sticks in a very regular monotonous rhythm all through the first scene. In the dark interval which follows, the monotonous time rhythm is taken up exactly "by tape recorder until! ANNOUNCER reappears in ACT THE SECOND and takes up the time keeping again.

'THE SCENE'

Centre back hangs PLASTIC MADE MODELS OF PROTOPLASMIC

HUMAN BEINGS nailed and tied securely to a frame.

The frame is made of? wood? iron? concrete.. any non-living material which is hard enough, ideally

-according to physicists- a diamond frame.

The frame and the model are as large and as high as

the Participants' resources and space would allow (if

they are a proud lot, they can make a frame larger

than they can afford which will have a very favorable

effect on viewers).

The frame may or may not be cross shaped since experience

adequately shows that protoplasmic human being forms

can be satisfactorily framed onto a wide variety of

frame shapes with equal effectiveness (cost effectiveness,

effort effectiveness, and result effectiveness.. etc. .)*

In the foreground facing the PLASTIC MODEL of PROTOPLASMIC HUMAN BEING NAILED TO FRAME, and in attitudes of devout worship the CLOTHES COVERED MEN AND WOMEN of PROTOPLASM make a perfectly still tableau of reverent worship.

The tableau remains perfectly static all through, ANNOUNCER beats time with perfect regularity, perceptible light and sounds (of devout worship) change periodically as new prophets of the human race erupt and disappear. At every change/phase PHOTOGRAPHERS with extreme intensity and breakneck urgency dash into the scene, take numerous flash photographs of everything and then dash out again.

the scene gradually fades out of consciousness giving way to complete stimulant-poor darkness, except of course


for the perfectly regular time beat which is now taken up "by a tape recorder or another suitable mechanical or electronic device.

Being an extreme contrast to what came before :'ACTIVITY.'

frantic activity being the all important note.

With extreme efficiency and dauntless determination, CLOTHES COVERED MEN AND WOMEN OF PROTOPLASM apply every ounce of energy they have to the construction and support of huge frames according to the existing models presented to them by a higher authority.

The frames arouse a considerable amount of interest and curiosity. Any children or retarded adults in the audience will no doubt long to come up, play with the frames, feel them, jump over them and otherwise widen the range of their experience them through a variety of interactions with them. That childish aspect of human curiosity remains -as it ought to remain- suppressed in the face of the serious and momentous happenings unfolding on stage. At any rate undiscerning children would mercifully always be accompanied by responsible adults and should any problems arise they can always be very quickly brought under control or removed -temporarily or permanently as is necessary.

It is also SAFER for the children not to wander on stage in pursuit of something as silly as 'childish 'exploration', for the pitch of activity is so intense -something that would put the most efficient beehive to eternal shame and is certainly an example to any nation in a state of war or in a state of peace with threat of war- that the actors have no more reserve of consciousness to register the presence of exploring children and would -quite innocently and unintentionally- hammer an exploring child into a beam or mix him or her into a concrete support ..etc

ANNOUNCER stands aside and beats time with perfect regularity as before.

PHOTOGRAPHERS record the happening at intervals.

..and it came to pass that it was decreed that that which has unfolded shall be known as the first tableau or the second tableau....and when the construction is complete .. and each man and woman has made a frame and when all groups have constructed their stipulated frames…

it is to be THE END of the first tableau or the second tableau.. and there is SILENCE except for the relentless beating of time ..and DARKNESS

...except for time and it shall be short..

temporarily out of consciousness but making an early re-entry and progressing to support the unfolding to come and to reach a tremendous climax at its end.

but all this is premature .'.'

for the tableau starts in darkness and silence except for time ..or the tableau before ends in darkness and silence except for time and only when there is the light we can see is the scene revealed..

Together with:

CLOTHES COVERED MEN AND WOMEN OP PROTOPLASM standing each in front a completed frame so as to face the frames with their backs.

PHOTOGRAPHERS into consciousness photographs

PHOTOGRAPHERS out of consciousness

Each CLOTHES COVERED MAN or WOMAN OF PROTOPLASM stares determinedly into his or her audience fixing into their respective gazes a human being who is to be the corresponding LATE COMER INTO THE SCENE*.

After a latent period, each CLOTHES COVERED MAN and WOMAN OF PROTOPLASM walks with determination to the chosen LATE COMER INTO THE SCENE, takes firm possession of him or her and conveys the creature in question bodily on to the stage.

NEVER USE ROUGHNESS OR FORCE

except when absolutely necessary)


Wheel chairs, "babies' prams (large) or simply carrying on the back are suggested, but any 'end effective' method can be used as long as it does not have the external aspect of being cruel or unnecessarily unpleasant.

Periodic WAVES OP CHEERING AND CLAPPING From nowhere in particular re-establish themselves firmly in the consciousness at the beginning of the action of conveying LATE COMERS on to the stage and develop gradually from then.

Once the'conveyance' is complete, each CLOTHES COVERED MAN

AND WOMAN OF PROTAPLASM proceeds to achieve the following;

to have in the most efficient and effective way the corresponding LATE COMER INTO THE SCENE stripped, molded and manipulated till they can be securely tied and nailed to the corresponding frame IN A STATE OF

NON-COMPLAINING PEACE AND QUITE - and preferably ACTIVE CONTENTMENT.

The participants achieve the prescribed end to the acconpyment of a rising crescendo of

WAVES OF CHEERING AND CLAPPING from nowhere in particular.

The participants use their imagination to the fullest possible degree. Clothes for example can be cut off by scissors or

sharp knife or dissolved in suitable acid, but NO MORE SUGGESTIONS.' for that only stifles the imagination and interferes with its unexpected unfolding.

Participants must again remember that roughness should never

be used except when absolutely necessary. For the most part those of them who are custodians will find that it is an unnecessary tool on the road to achieving the prescribed end. In fact the qualities of civilization and the desire for conformity which seem to have happily crept into the genes of most of the LATE COMERS INTO THE SCENE are so effective as to make them actually help their CUSTODIANS getting them securely fixed on to the --appropriate frames*.

When (rarely) resistance is shown or complaints are made during or after the process of framing on to the prescribed frame thereby making for an unfortunate situation in which


the use of force is necessary, this must be done with determined ruthlessness and unflinching efficiency;

(no one of the participants would like everyone to say of them that they failed in attaining the end set for them, would they?

...and after going so far???? ...and what about the ANNOUNCER standing in the shadows but watching everything like a hawk

and beating time???? ....and what about others who are watching the play?? ...what about others who HAVE succeeded?? No! no one will accept to be publicly labeled and exposed as a failure and a cowardly weakling

In truth there is one very civilized reason for using force ruthlessly and unflinchingly when it is needed and -that of course- is to shorten the agonies of the receiver/s. (delete whichever does not apply).
